Do you think blizzard will give us another stable slot? Wouldn't that be nice.
1 - pvp
1 - arena
1 - tank
1 - pve

I would love them for it.

Maybe and maybe not. They can do whatever they want, you can't blame them since it's their game. If they did it would probably cost a decent amount of gold I'm guessing.

My guess is no. It would be nice. At least we can utilise all three spots now, since we don't need disposables for skill learning.

I don't see any harm in hunters having a dozen stable slots - its not like its all that easy to have multiple maxed out pets (unless you bring untrained pets along in groups or for raids).

I have seen a hunter do this. He brought a lvl 68 pet to 25man raids and said it was a good way to lvl it up. OMFG I almost lost it and I got vent muted in my own guild vent channel for it ><

That is the best way to level your pet up actually.

It's also sub-par if you are in any sort of progress raid. The best way is actually to bring it to a level 70 five man instance. Much higher tolerance for lower dps and much less consequence if a boss wipes you at 1%.

But yeah, on farm bosses you can bring a level 70 pet without much problem.

You can level pets in 25 man raids? You certainly can't in 10 man ones. I took a lvl 68 Serpent to Kara (Checked with guild first, it was a clearing run so no big) and I don't think it even got one full bubble of exp the whole time.

Heroics are the best for pet levelling IMO.

I believe at a recent panel, a Blizz person said a flat "no" to more stable slots. I can't remember where I read it though, so maybe it's not true.

The other new pet mechanics kinda give us an extra slot anyway. You no longer have to tame pets to learn higher ranks of skills, so that frees up your 3rd slot for a permanent pet. The new auto-levelling to 5 levels behind you also means that you probably wont have a slot filled by a low level "showoff" or "levelling project" pet either.

Slightly OOT, but I just saw on Petopia the models for a few new pets. OMFG they look nice.
That American Eagle is so funny. But I mostly love the new Wolves. So creepy.

The same applies to 25 mans, the exp is so horrible that there's no point in bringing your pet in. As North said, the best chance is to bring it to a 5 man instance. Heroic's are better I've noticed, but hell any higher level 5 man instance would work much better than a raid.

On Topic: If anything, the new talent trees give Blizzard even MORE reason to only give us 3 stable slots:
1 DPS
1 Utility
1 Tank

As for the pets leveling in raids... It really depends on what your guild is doing, and whether or not your guild has that content on farm. I brought a level 69 Owl into Hyjal because it had about half a level left to go, and it was level 70 before the first boss. Each mob didn't give a lot of experience, but there were just so many of them, that my pet leveled fairly quickly.

I would never take an under-leveled pet to anything BUT Hyjal, though. 25-man raid trash doesn't give much experience at all. IMO, the best way to level a pet is to find some nice farm spot and start killing things. I usually find places that drop Aldor or Scryers rep.

You can also do it if you're farming mobs for leather or for primals or dailies work well too.
