OK I have a level 70 warlock, currently 42/8/11. Just wondering if I'm the only one who feels that DoT's seem to not do that much dmg, I can hardly kill anything (druids are a pain, in fact all healers are a pain). Maybe is it because I'm udergeared or omething, can any affliction locks confirm that it does get better with gear? So now I've been thinking of respeccing even though I've been affliction since the start, is destruction worth it, can we actually kill people as destro or does that happen once in a life time; or should I go doomguard or even sl/sl. It would be interesting to know beforehand how you guys do in pvp (kills compared to deaths, or something of the sort).

Before anyone asks why is nothing gemed I'll answer by saying that since I'm searching for my spec, I didn't want to wast money for a certain gems and then needing to change them because they didn't fit the spec. Also, since I'm leveling enchanting as secondary some items may have agility or some other stat, just dont mind, I'll enchant the right stuff at 375. To let you guys know, I'm trying to get 3 pieces of dreadweave and 2 pieces of felweave or vice versa depending on spec.
PS: For PVE, I'm gathering the mats for FSW, damn so much primals T_T Just wondering what else should I try to get after FSW.

Hey there bro.
You're spec is fine,you need some better gear,only that.
First of all, you have to get pvp trinket, its 1st piece of pvp gear you should take !
Farm battlegrounds so you can get s2. Make arena team (2v2 if you have a mate or even better 3v3 or 5v5) doesn't matter if you suck,you'll still get *some* points.
When you get around 12.5k hp and 350 resi socket +spell dmg gems.
Your dots don't do much damage because your +spell dmg is very low,you die fast because your resilience is very low and hp also.
Luckily this is easily solved ;
1 farm bgs
2 get PVP TRINKET
3 make arena team
Also if you pvp most of the time try Sl/Sl spec,its great when undergeared but if you enjoy aff (as I also do) stick with it ,you'll notice difference once your spell dmg ,hp and resi go up.
Have fun along the way =)
ps.its felguard ,not doomguard :p
edit: until you get your s2 gear get blue set and buy gems /enchants ,don't be cheap ,these days in wow gold is so damn easy to make ... and you'll feel the difference right away.

My bad for the doomguard typo, wasen't paying attention.
I've taken into consideration what you said, I'll do BG's arena and get the gear and see what happens then.
