Laptop vs keyboardFollow

I started playing in December 2007. I don't put a huge amount of time into the game, but have managed (mostly because I've paid attention to what I've read here) to get my hunter to level 69.5. 70 tonight?? Wife is out of town, so maybe.

I have a couple other low level toons (in the 20s), but my main problem is: I SUCK AT PVP.

I do us a laptop, but have been lead to believe that I would have better luck with a gaming keyboard. I'm not going to stop using the laptop as the monitor and CPU because nothing is better than sitting in the recliner while playing.

My plan is to (if y'all agree) connect a USB gaming keyboard to the laptop.

My question(s):

Would an investment in a gaming keyboard help?

If so, can anyone suggest which one?

I don't know how to link my build, so can't do that. If it matters, my guy is a BM/MM hybrid. I don't use any macros (love to push the buttons) but I do use zhunter to watch the cast and autoshoot timers so I don't clip autoshoot very often, and try pretty hard not to miss a kill command when it's available.

Thanks.

I use the G15 keyboard and it works great for assigning a key binding and then using that key on the "M" keys. If you do get a keyboard you might as well get a combo and do mouse and keyboard.

Even though you don’t like macro’s you will increase your burst/overall dps if you make a shot macro. It is in the sticky at the top of the forums. Especially as a BM hunter.

No. If you suck at PvP, accessories like Gaming keyboards ain't going to be a magic wand for ya.

Learn how to bind all useful skills near your movement keys (I assume you use AWSD) and use a couple of modifier macros. Use your mouse exclusively for turning and you ought to bind a few more essential skills/macros to your mousewheel and keys. Then go out with a friend and duel with him until you've gotten all keybindings worked into your reflex repertoire. Then you can go study PvP to get better.

This.
Goes for other expensive toys as well, it can help you play better/more effecien but it's not going to be your key to succes.

And to Devil's Advocate my own and Aethien's post a little:

Once you do possess high skill in PvP, your kit might prove to be a bottleneck you can widen. If I had sat around with a normal Dell piece of shit mouse, I'd be worse in PvP than I am now with a Razer Diamondback. But that's because there isn't too much I can improve in-game. The same goes for Keyboards. Once you've attained proper PvP skill, a good keyboard will make a difference.

But only if you've got the skill to go with it.

My Grandmother could spend money on a Ferrari, but she still would drive like a near-blind ******.

To add to their post as well :) the G15 (the one i use) you have to keybind a normal key on your keyboard. The only good thing is the special keys are an easy pinky push away since my binding for pvp are located on my num keypad. Just personal preference. Got use to that in FFXI and FPS. So it is easier for me. All depends on your playstyle where to locate your bindings. I have big hands so I have to spread em out more :(
