Hey guys, I had a question on alteratives to heal-bot for healing. I've heard a lot on something called x-pearl I think. I like healbot, but I was wondering if there was better or what some of the higher raiders use.

Our guild is still doing Kara but slowly trying for more of the 25 mans like Gruul's and Mag. Thanks for any input!

You can try the Grid and Clique combo. A lot of people like that.

Ah thats another one I hear alot of. Is it easy to use/setup? And what exactly does it show in terms of what spells?

It's pretty easy to use.

Clique allows you to set up your spells in your spell book to mouse clicks and you can use those on unit frames. For instance these are my bindings:
Ctrl + left click = FoL
Ctrl + right click = HL
Ctrl + middle click = Holy Shock
Shift + Left Click = Cleanse
Shift + Right Click = BoF
Shift + Middle Click = BoP
Alt + Left Click = BoSac

Grid puts all of the members in your raid in a nice little rectangle. Your parties will be arranged in rows or columns, with the first 4 letters of their name in the middle by default. The fill background behind the player is their health, and as it lowers (or rises, configurable) they get closer to dieing. When they get any kind of debuff on them, it displays in the middle of their portrait. It comes with showing poisons, diseases, magic, and curses. But I recommend disabling Curses since you cant do anything about them anyway. It will also have little squares in the corners to notify you of other things including incoming heals and aggro, and you can configure it for even more. One configuration I like is that I alpha out the square if they are more than 40 yards away from me, so I know they are out of my range. Useful in PvE but VERY useful in PvP.

So with Grid + Clique, all you need to do is click onto the grid with your assigned clicks and it will do that spell on them. For me it's just a game of "Keep the little squares clean and full by clicking on them"

Just play around with it, doesn't take very long to learn how to use the addons.

Thanks Cap for mentioning that setting in grid. I have grid but have been too lazy to figure out how to filter those out of my range. I'll find that setting and start using again now.

Cool sounds pretty sweet. I'll have to test it out. Almost sounds like De-curse, has the little boxes.

I use Healbot.

I have never tried clique/grid but it sounds like they give you the same features that healbot gives with just one addon. For quite a while whenever there is a "best healing addon" thread, these are the 2 options that are mentioned.

I may end up trying grid/clique if I can't get healbot to cooperate. I just spec'd full holy raid build last night and got Holy Shock for the first time. So I tried to set my middle mouse button to Holy Shock instead of the stock spell on healbot which is BoS. Figured I could live w/o BoS being involved with my healbot spells cause I only use it for one or 2 ppl and can easily have it on a manual click. Well, healbot is still using it on middle click...every now and then it will holy shock but usually just BoS's my target. Friendly target that is. I have a different keybind set up for using it in an offensive way. Anyway after spamming BoS on a couple ppl I gave up due to being mid-raid lol.

I still like and recommend healbot to guildies but I need to figure this glitch out. It's probably just user error :P

I use X-Perl for my unit frames -- it was a bit tricky to get configured just the way I like it, but now it works really well for me. As for my heals I've written mouseover macros for healing and cleanse. Just point the mouse at the party member and hit the hotkey. It has worked really well for me so far.
