i was wondering if some pallys could give me some pointers on what spells they down rank and how much by for MH/BT and what cast rotation you use for these. i ask mainly because on my priest i knew it was common for every priest to downrank to greater heal 4 so was wondering if its the same and theres a ideal rank / rotation for pallys.( ofc i know theres no set rotation its just healing but any help would be nice :)
while im here i was going to ask some advice on my gear, i currently have 2160 + healing almost 24% crit and 100 mp5. am i loseing out on mp5 for crit and healing? im probly just asking this because i just changed out my ZA chest and gained 21 healing, 0.7% crit but lost 13 mp5. should i reuse the ZA chest?

Put up your character name/server so I can check gear etc.
For downranking I tend to use rank 9/10 HL depending on the encounter. FoL is so damned cheap I use max rank most encounters with the exception of perhaps Illidan which is a 25 min fight and rank 6 does the job. If you need anything lower than that you need more mana pots and to start using them proactively or to recheck your gear.
For SR gear Shadesteel is the stuff for Shahraz, start farming as soon as you can dont be the bad player who hasn't even farmed mats until they attempting Mother. Night's End Cloak is cheap to make as well. The neck from completing the quest and you should be capped.

hey thanks for help so far, my char names flyy on server dentarg. EU btw, lets hope im not in pvp gear. well my guilds got BT / HYJAL on farm and sunwell progression starts in 2 weeks, i only receently rejoined so my gear is ofc less then the rest of the guilds but i still feel its good enough to do my job. i should be able to do the BT pre quest for the neck soon as we do tk/ssc on off days , already done vials of eternity. my guild might be kind enough to provide some of the HoTs for resistance gear however ive been given a raid spot for tommorow night for the second half of BT and the guild leader has already said that another healer will take my place for sharaz while i sort out my shadow res, which is annoying ofcourse.
in terms of ranks i had previously been useing 7/8 HL and max FoL would you say 7/8 would be too low?
another question. ive been trying out the paladind trinket from alar agaisnt the ribbon from opera in kara, useing the pala trinket puts my healing back down to about 2115 but when it procs i go all the way up too 2400. have it been theroy crafted which is better? or is it obv static stats come first?

They both suck. ribbon is trash for a pally and the book is like 70 healing when theorycrafted out

+ healing is fine, mp5 is a bit low and crit is ho hum, not bad but not great either. About where I entered Hyjal/BT in terms of gear. You also seem to have an idea of what you are doing with gems and enchants.
If mana is your concern I would recommend either a spell crit or mp5 trinket instead, spell haste is something you only really go into once you have the gear to support it.

cleared all up to illidan tonight =) who we will take on sunday. tomo night is Mh clear which should be good.
on council i had the mage tank healing job , was pretty easy. used a couple of pots but other than that was fine. my healing was fine on meters , probs just nervous about steeping into end game content as a pally this time. only got atrraction on sharaz once , since ive only got 120 shaodw res this was good since i could just bubble.

Healing on Council is pretty cake, especially if you have a job like the Rogue/Mage tank. I usually throw on some pvp gear to help survive those moments when you get a Poison, Ice AOE, Smite thingy all at once. If you ever help the Rogue tank make sure you have your taunt on the bar it can save the day if the rogue comes out and gets insta bop'ed.

A quick question on stats needed for Mother.
With the full shadow resist set im sitting at 370 shadow resist which is perfectly fine.
But
will 1615 bonus heal cut it with only 54 mp5 and 20 percent holy crit?
9600 Health and 7500 Mana

365 (buffed) is the cap.
I have golden spellthread and all the regular enchants on it, downrank to fol 6, pop mana pots on cooldown. Use Divine favor/Illumination and pop trinkets at key parts. Really not that bad, after BB and RoS its a cakewalk fight.
