I am wondering about where I should be at in terms of stats and gear to be ready for ZA. Should I be at a certain ammount of RAP, Agility, Stam, Crit%, Hit Rating and so on. Thanks for any help.

Well when I started ZA I was a BM spec with crafted Leatherworking gear, badge loot, and Kara gear. I focued on AP and Crit but I guess the new idea is Agi > AP with pld in group since BOK stacks with Agi and not AP

Well im sitting at about 550 Agi, and 1600 AP unbuffed atm, but I don't know if that is good enough.

What spec are you? and in a earlier post mulgrin offers a hint on gear about raids.

mulgrin says

"~7k HP
~6k Mana
up to 136 hit rating (or less if you specced surefooted.
As a BM specced hunter: ~20% crit; > 1.8k RAP
As a MM specced hunter: ~20% crit; > 2k RAP
As a SV specced hunter: >25% crit; >= 1.6 RAP "

for kara and early 25mans. This is overkill in my opinion for kara but 25mans not in the least. When I was MM/SV spec'ed (Which you should go BM or SV for raids) I was 2200 AP and over 20% crit. I can't recall my BM stats but it was like crit 30% and AP around 1600-1700 with AOTH but I used AOTV for mana since I blew thru it so much.

No that isnt.
You need full kara equivalent gear or better.
It's just about enough for a full kara run, so you need to stay there longer and gather all the badges you can to get good gear.

So I take it full S2, the bow prince drops and perhaps a painsaw would be adequate for a BM spec?

yes,

the pvp gear for hunters is very good,

im at 1870 AP or so, hitcapped, and 26% crit with minimal gear.(BM spec)
Mostly pvp and kara epics, with the execption of 1 badge item and ive done all of ZA with 1000+ dps

I'm finding more and more that stats matter much less than what you can push out DPS-wise. If you are looking for just any run, then doing about 800 DPS should be fine. If you're looking to get a few timed rewards, you should be looking to do over 1000 DPS.

And knowing the "Tempest" trick is also a good way to carve your niche in a ZA group.

Background: When going to the eagle boss, several birds are spawned with each trash pull, but this can be avoided. Instead of going left, and straight up the ramp, go right, over by the waterfall/lake and stop by the big rock. Use Eagle Eye to get a view of the top ledge (A use for eagle eye? YES!), and look around for the Amani'shi Tempest (there's only one). If you can't see him, you should at least be able to do /tar Amani'shi Tempest. Cancel eagle eye, and send your pet on the tempest. As soon as your pet dies, res it, and get ready to fight.

Doing that pulls 2-3 mobs down the side of the cliff. Killing the Tempest will make it so the birds don't spawn on the way up the ramp. It doesn't always save a ton of time, but it definitely makes it harder to wipe on the way to the boss.

TO ProjectMidnight:

Does that trick basically blow your chances at the timed chests at all? I know you said it wasn't a time saver.
