Technically it's not yours. You summon the totem and the totem is yours, but the totem is the master of the "big fire dude".

As said, 68 Fire Elemental Totem.
It's OK in a PvE and can do some decent damage (key is (as with all totems) knowing when to drop it).
But in PvP it's more a a distraction to block other players' views. If there's a big battle going on in PvP I'll drop it, not as much for damage, but more for attracting attention until I get in a better attack position. If one is dropped on me, it's more an annoyance than anything - the damage is minimal (to ignorable once you're in lvl70 battlegrounds), but it is constantly blocking your line of sight, sometimes to the point that I get aggravated and focus on taking it out (wasting precious attack or defense time).
As it is a totem, it can be easily destroyed, and if you die, the totem fades, thus the elemental.
But, its still pretty rockin', and used properly can be a pretty darn good advantage in PvE for damage or PvP for distraction.

The Earth one has more health but deals less damage. It's the tanking one of the two, having a very strong taunt move it uses to get aggro from you.

so basically the summons aren't there to be relied upon, they're merely there to help... thanks everyone

It should be noted that it is on a long cooldown (20 minutes) and they share an internal cooldown (2 minutes between using), so you can never have both of your elementals out at one time.
