There are no words to describe how angry/confused/angfused I am right now.

HUNTERS ARE GETTING STEALTH

not just Nelfs, ALL HUNTERS.

WHAT

Plus, its got a cloak of shadows bullsh*t thing on it too, removing all physical and magical debuffs.

I don't really have a problem with hunters, most people who play them usually are pretty cool, but I just can't understand what Blizz is trying to do here. Are they trying to make Hunters into every class rolled into one? Now hunters have a MS (aimed shot), dispell (arcane shot), blind (scatter shot), a DoT for health and mana, and a silence or beserk mode depending on what you spec. And now stealth. Or, rather, improved invisibility.

I mean, I have a hunter alt (haven't played it in a while tho), and I know bunches of hunters, and even they are going "What the heck is all this?" Does Blizzard have a big one for hunters or what? Hunters were pretty well balanced before 2.3, when most of this happened. Understandably, the dead zone needed to be, maybe not removed, but shortened. But now they're making hunters into this insane class that do everything but heal and main tank. Though, along with the fact that pets are getting their own talent trees (tanking is one), we might see a Hunter pet tank 5 man heroics one day (OK, that might be an exaggeration).

Obviously anything in WotLK is subject to change, but if this goes through, what could be next for hunters? A healing shot (a potion on an arrow), a lifestealing melee attack (a la DK), or is Blizz just gonna forgoe the whole thing and just give hunters 2 talent points per level now?

Like I said, this isn't a shot at Hunter players, since most had 70 hunters before this, but I'm just wondering whats up with all these buffs and insane abilities.

tl;dr version: No.

Just so you know, Wotlk isn't even in beta yet, so A LOT is going to change. All of the leaked talents and spells aren't balanced at all, so barely any of it is going to make it without getting seriously nerfed. See the pet skills? Uber long silences and roots? Nuh uh.

Even if every hunter could super stealth, big deal. As a NElf hunter I can tell you it has limited use. The clearing of the debuffs would be nice but as Yuppley said, probably wouldn't survive testing.

Simple fact is, Hunters as a class walk a dangerous tightrope. Add one ability to us and we become OP, take one away and we are laughing stocks. Even mild modifications of range and other factors can have tremendous impact on the class.

I hate it when we get some uber-ability. It just means we are going to be nerfed to high heaven once it gets out.

What I'm interested to see is the pets getting the talent trees (would love to see pet barding as well) and what modifications they are going to make to the base trees. Obviously, the talent trees will deepen by at least 5 points, more likely 8 or more. Those new talents could be interesting. For all we know, SV could end up the dominant spec or even all the specs get re-done completely.

None of this will ever be concrete until they go gold and even then expect the next 6 months of nerf and adjustment city.

The first casualty of contact with the enemy is the plan.

All I heard was: "WAAAAAAAH"

Seriously, you come into a HUNTER forum, complaining about HUNTERS. How did you ever think you'd get any sympathy?

You don't know how things will be balanced in Wrath, you don't know what may be considered "OP" or not. After Wrath hits, and everyone has a chance to figure out how the game will be played (And believe me, it will be a drasticly new game) then you can whine for nerfs/buffs.

Not QQing, I came to the hunter board to specifically find out what all of you think about these changes. If you look at hunters as a class pre-2.3, let alone pre-BC, they have changed probably more than any other class, and many abilities just look like [non-hunter class ability] shot. It seems that hunters just seem to get other class abilities modified to be long-range rather than getting their own stuff. Is that why you started playing a hunter, or have you always had one? If you have, what do you think of what Blizzard is doing with the class?

That's what I was trying to get across, I'm sorry it didn't come across as eloquently before.

Ah, there we go ^^.

Anyways, I didn't play pre BC, so I'd have no idea of how Hunters were back then. If you ask me; though, about BC Huntering, I'd have to say that you're slightly right: Many of our skills are re-tooled versions of other class' "gimmicks," so to speak.

But these skills aren't, for the most part, easymode versions of their counterparts. Aimed Shot DOES have a MS effect to it, but look at the requirements: Needs to be in range, LOS, and not our melee range, with a rather substantial casting time. Scatter Shot is like Blind in nature, except it has a shorter duration and requires a talent point. Our DoTs are quite lackluster, and one of them even uses our trap cooldown. (Although, I gotta hand it to you, Arcane-dispel is pretty OP :P)

In all, someone who knows how to utilize every little bit of the Hunter class will perform exceptionally well. I'm by no means a god at PvP, but I've watched and played with Gladiator Hunters before. They rip **** up.

If you don't know how to use these skills, they're simply dumbed down versions of their counterparts, and since they're all on some sort of cooldown, you'd just be wasting the skills. This new spell, Cloak of Hunters, I think it'll just be like Cloak of Shadows. You see the stupid rogues who use Cloak of Shadows to get rid of stupid stuff, but on the other hand there are the good rogues who know when to pop it, and utilize it 100%. Same for Hunters.

As for the direction that Blizzard is going with Hunters, I think they're making them to be one of the most complicated classes ever. If you ask me (And no one did, really.), Hunters take the most skill to play properly. You have so many skills and most, if not all, have a place in the game. (Insert Warrior Controller Joke)

Chimera Shot 11 (50 Pt Req) Marksmanship
You deal 30% weapon damage, consuming the current Sting on your target and triggering an effect:

* Serpent Sting - Instantly deals 40% of the damage done by your Serpent Sting.
* Viper Sting - Instantly burns 30% of the amount of mana drained on your Viper Sting, restoring 100% back to you.
* Scorpid Sting - Reduces damage done by the target's next three attacks by 60%. The damage reduction is diminished by 20% following each attack. Lasts 10 sec.
(No rank/cost information available.)

That is what I saw..... oh hell yeah!

Oh and also, WotLK is officially out of Alpha atm, but there is nothing that says this is going to stay.
I'm definately not trusting on the stealth.

You play a warrior... don't you?

This experimental talent is largely PvP-oriented, which is where hunters are currently very weak- even with the side-effects of our shots. Sure, it'll find its uses in Raiding, but it's only slightly OP there.

Actually, I main a druid, but my roommate's a warrior and I had to hear the ******** about "Mortal Shot" for a week =P

On topic, however, I can see what you guys are saying, it probably wont be terribly OP, more like an 'oh sh*t' button than anything else, or as a way to get the drop on someone. I hadn't seen the alpha changes yet, and they look interesting, to say the least. I think after the alpha is over, we'll see some nerfs/buffs to many abilities before the game is released to balance things out, as expected.
