So why will (or won't) you be making a Death Knight? Are you gonna get your main to 80, or are you gonna make your brand new unholy swingin monstrosity first?

Personally, I'll be making a Death Knight as soon as I get the game loaded and make that my new main. Don't get me wrong, I love my feral druid, but there's always been something about it that just didn't feel... right, ya know? It's fun, I can OT or dps or pvp just by switching armors (outfitter ftw), but I've always just missed the sight of being a plate wearing, two-hander swinging badass. My first toon was a BE pally (I'm relatively new), and that's the kind of gameplay I wanted to go with, plate two hander melee dps with some utility and casting mixed in, but between going oom, having people tell me to heal endgame, and the somewhat lack of dps compared to other classes, it just wasn't working out. For this reason, I think we'll see a lot of retadins go to DKs, at least for a bit. Mana is replaced with quick loading runes, even as a tank you're still dpsing, and the overall dps looks pretty good so far. It just seems like the class that retadins, and even some enhance shammies/arms warriors, wanted to be. I'm not saying that everyone will become a DK right off the bat, but there might be some classes that we'll see a definate decline in during the first few months.

Comments? Ideas? Completely unrelated topics?

Most likely I will be leveling a Death Knight right off the bat.
From what I see, it's a class that can deal good damage, take it, and hold his/her own on the battlefield.
Of course this is all based on theory, with abilities and talents as the main source.
In reality, it may be completely different than what I am expecting.
Depending on how things goes, there is a good chance that the DK might be a new main for me.

I won't be making my DK right away for a few reasons:

1) My Paladin will still be my main through Wrath, end of story. At no time have I thought of dropping my Paladin as my main for any other class, and I really can't see that happening to a DK.

I want to immerse my Paladin into the Wrath story line ASAP. It's been mentioned before, but this expansion, it's personal for a Paladin. That will be my main focus.

2) My Paladin is my tank. My Shaman is my melee DPS. I absolutely love those 2 classes and the roles I choose to use them for. That covers the 2 roles a DK will be able to fill. At some time I may like my DK over those 2 characters, but I am too happy and comfortable with my current tank/melee DPS to start a new one before taking my current ones into at least some of Wrath.

3) Remember what the Draenei and Blood Elf starting zones looked like for about the first 3-4 weeks after TBC's launch? Nooblette Draenei and Blood Elves all over the place! Why? Cause they were new and people wanted to experience the new. I have a feeling DKs will be the same way: lots of them for the first 3-4 weeks, then it dieing down some from there.

I will probably go about a month without a DK experiencing the X-Pack with my Paladin (and maybe Shaman too) until the newness dies off a bit, then start my own DK.

I will definitely create one... Not intended as a main, but I want to have (at least basic) DK class knowledge for PvP. Not to mention they might just be a lot of fun to play around with.

You almost sound like the OP on this thread: http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/class.html?wclass=10;mid=1212696747315895764;num=46;page=1 (a lame dude)

As for me, I will roll a DK to experience new play styles and to learn their weaknesses and strenghts. It may become my main if I like him.

Being an altaholic, I'll create a DK right away. However, being an altaholic, he will have to share time with my other toons.

I'll make one, unless the Paladins in beta can practically eat planets whole. Since Warlocks dont seem to be getting much I'm looking into switching mains, and I'll probably either level the Paladin or roll a new DK depending on the extent of the imminent 'retooling' of the Paladin class.

LOL - You're comparing me to THAT?!? Yea, I guess it's close, if you reverse everything that the OP said ... Notice I said I won't make one "right away", but I am rolling a DK. I want to see what they play like, experience the new content, all that jazz. I'm just not starting one the very day that I buy my copy of the X-Pack, and I gave my reasoning for it. That OP on the other hand stated they weren't rolling one at all and gave, in the opinion of many, lame excuses for it. I even stated in another thread that I have my DK's name saved with a placeholder alt ...

You utterly fail.

Do you assume that every warlock is demonology specced, or are you just an average moron?

No, I'm just stating warlocks will be getting something big.

Do you assume warlocks cannot respec?

As I've told you in the other forum, Demon Form is snake oil to be honest. Replacing a CC and DoT class with a Demon with only a few abilities for 45secs just seems pointless. It'd have to be overpowered to be useful, as it effectively replaces every other Warlock skill with the few on the Demon's talent bar.

Now if it breaks CC, I agree with you, but it doesnt, so I dont.

Oh, and one other thing; Demons can be banished.

Anyway, on topic, definitely gonna roll DK. The Paladin changes just seem...weird...and the Warlock changes (nice, bye bye Cripple) released in the beta condemn locks to a PvE damage role. DK is the only class (aside from rerolling Rogue or Warrior) that seems to have the real potential for varied success. Plus, there is something just cool about the entire concept, and gearing a Death Knight in wicked melee gear should be as satisfying as gearing my Warlock was back in the day.

Looking forward to it, just not looking forward to the inevitable nerfs once the class is popular.

OK, you've proved yourself. You're not exceptional, but just an average every day variety moron.
