I know this doesnt have anything to do with classes but is wrath of the litch king an expansion to burning crusade? because i have TBC and can i use Wrath of the litch king after it comes out?

It is Lich btw, not Litch.
And yes, you have to have TBC installed (on top of regular WoW) in order to play Wrath of the Lich King (it is an expansion to WoW/TBC together).
