Just wanted to take a pole of which druid you picked Tauren or Night Elf, what spec, and why.

Night elf, Balance from 1-70 and then resto.

Basically all my friends played alliance on a pvp server so I found myself limited. I picked druid because it didn't seem like a too highly played class and no one likes the popular cookie cutters. I chose balance because I enjoy casting, seeing as in my years of diablo 1, diablo 2, d2exp and multiple rpgs I played too many melee characters so I wanted to enjoy a change.

Now I'm resto because my guild coerced me, I healed off spec up until I started heroics so it wasn't much of a change, I could just be a tree instead of a crit chicken and my heals were more efficient. I enjoy resto the most now because I can kite around 4 or 5 melee characters in AB for around minutes before they actually kill me.

Tauren since my main at that time was an undead.

I leveled feral from 1-70. Then went resto at my guild request. I still have a good feral tanking set and I'm respeccing too often!

I went a bit different with my tauren druid.

I lvled as Balance from 40 onwards (since I'd already got a warr and wanted to try ranged attacks), but respecced to Resto at lvls x7, x8 and x9 (e.g. 47-49, 57-59 etc) in order to heal instances (as a bit of practice for when I hit 70 and go full-on Resto) and BGs (as for some reason I LOOOOVE healing BGs). This way it costs he quite a bit in respec fees, but at the end of the day I level quite fast as boomkin but get to do the full-on healing that I rolled a druid for.

I know I might well get flamed for saying this, but what the hell? If I rolled another healer-type (I'm thinking priest possibly) then I'd do the same thing again.

Ohh boy.

First Druid was a Night Elf. Picked a Night Elf because my cousin and I wanted to be Alliance and I had no idea Night Elves would be so ugly modeled compared to Warcraft III.

As for leveling, I think he went Restoration/Balance first, because Feral was crap back then. Once Feral got buffed big time, he switched to that and did the remaining levels as a kitty cat. Not sure what levels we're talking here, it's been a couple of years. He's Feral now, but enjoying the occasional respec to Restokin.

My second Druid is a Tauren. I picked Tauren because the OOT guild plays on Horde side and I wanted to play with them. I've always liked Tauren Druids over Night Elven Druids due to the way the Tauren model looks compared to the skinny Night Elf. If only they hadn't messed up the bear/cat model designs.

The Tauren is only level 22 or so at the moment, but he's getting there, albeit slowly.
