I want to get the Merciless Gladiator's Decapitator
but I found out my axe skill is 1 :( Never used an axe before apparently.
What is a good place to level the skill to 350? Preferably some place where I could farm some nice stuff also (cloth or leather perhaps), so it is not too boring.

Go to the blasted lands, search for one of the servants of whatevertheirnameis, send in pet, autoattack, mend pet every few minutes while you post/lurk at forums.
you can spam a rank 1 wingclip too.
run stocks and like stated above spam rank 1 wingclip
Probably a stupid question but I ask anyway: why spam wingclip and not just auto attack and keep hitting everything?

To save yourself A LOT of time, go to outland first and get this axe (Fastest two hand axe in the game).
The 1.8 attack speed will give you double the attacks and hence double the skill ups per second.
Then do as Aethien said, go to the blasted lands and hack away.

If you ask me, it's easier to go to Shadowmoon and find those "Elemental Summoner Dudes."
I forget their exact name, but they're surrounded by 3 totems of a specific element. When you kill a totem, they summons little elemental pets. When all of the totems are dead, they come out and poke at you. But if you don't kill the totems, they sit there immune to all attacks, so you can level weapon skills there. (They're scattered throughout the place, by the earth, fire, wind, and water elemental mobs)

Just outside Shadow Labs is an endless supply of NPCs attacking other NPCs. You can beat on them all day, and you won't pull aggro very often, if at all, until your skill is pretty close to maxxed. I do like the idea of getting the fastest axe you can lay your hands on.
You will get to 300 very quickly, and 349 will come soon enough. That 350th skill point is a hard grind, though.
