the improved spirit tap... 100% on mind blast/sw-death crit to gain a half-spirit tap effect

now.... im planning on a full disc healing build, since i have pvp and pve interests

to synergize with divine aegis, im gonna probably go for a lot of spirit/healing/crit gear

now... in a pve run, what do you guys think of throwing out rank 1 mind blasts as often as possible just hoping for the crit

high crit gear = better chance of it happening
rank 1 = no threat caused basically, for the same effect as rank 14 or w/e lol
triggering spirit taps while stacking spirit = basically a 50% meditation talent, and possibly clutch mana regen

sound good, or talent points wasted? cuz id hafta choose between that, or goin holy enough for the reduced mana cost greater heal

Meh... so/so I'd say. It's definitely a tactic but I'd have to see it happen before believing it'd work. Talent-wise you lack any form of +crit on mind blast/SW:D. While I do see the use of of the normal spirit tap (I finish people off with SW:D a lot), the imp doesn't seem worth it in a full healing build.

Link the spec you had in mind so we can see what alternatives you have for those 5 points.

I think it'd be a waste. Going disc/holy spec you'll be healing in instances. MB is a long cast time with a recast timer. I think you'll be more occupied with heals and other things than to keep trying to crit MB for imp spirit tap. You might find yourself canceling mid-cast in order to get a heal off. In cases where you wouldn't would be when the group is basically overgeared for the instance. Even in those cases though would you really need the bonus effect? I doubt you'll find yourself OOM in those situations or even close.

I think you're better off in the long run going with the mana-efficient heals.

Soloing it'd be a waste to cast level 1 MB.

i had something like that in mind

some points i aint sure on (think anything not maxed out lol)

basically, for solo or dps roles i can do mind blast/penace rotations

for pvp im full disc, and should my mana get low... or if my holy school is locked out, a quick mind blast might RNG me some game-breaking mana in a group format... or for solo pvp, i use mind blast for damage anyways, why not gain mana from it?

for pve, its a utility healing build... regenning mana for the group, shields on crit heals make that a perfect time to try a MB and grace helps all the other healers.. plus imp DS too

if i didnt get spirit tap and such, id get the imp healing in holy.. and drop one point in the disc tree (reflect shield or mental agility prob)

just remember too: im planning on stacking spirit and crit gear along with +heals... so while the MB isnt gonna have a super high crit chance.. it wont be that horrid

not meant to be a main raid healer role.. but kinda the healing version of the shadow pri mana battery

disc pri/shadow pri/resto shaman/2 other healers(coughhealadinscough) in a healing group for a raid = gross mana battery skills plus my grace = even extra mana battery
