Hunter equipment for lvl 30-40Follow

#1 Jul 14 2008 at 8:25 AM Rating: Decent
I think I was spoilt regarding equipment in the 15-30 horde ranks:- Wailing Cavern (great agil drops), Blackfathom deeps (also some nice +agi drops), Shadowfang keep for that nice cloak, Razorfen Krawl/Gnomeregan for the odd piece or two.

But when I hit the 30's, I got nothing from the instances! Nothing! The scarlet Monastery is full of cloth and tank mail, Razorfen Downs has two pieces of nice +agil but the drop rates are like 0.02%.

So am I missing something? I think I was well geared until the 30's after which I fell slightly behind to curve again and had to spend 40g of my mount money buying some green items from the auction house. Where do other hunters go for equipment in the 30-40 ranks?

I always just use whatever quest crap I got and push on through to end game. the only thing I ever spend money on is a good blue ranged weapon.

as easy as hunter is to level, it's not like we need uber gear anyway. my first hunter, back several years ago made it to level 43 before I realized there were training points to be placed :*( the sad part about that is that I was leveling faster than all my friends who came over with me from SWG and I thought it was a well balanced game.

I can't say much for the Horde side, none of my Horde alts are that high, however, KDenelor is right- grind it out.

The only reason the 30's levels exist is to get to 40 and mail. Once at 40, the scorpid set works well and you'll likley have a leatherworker in your guild that is trying to level their skill and can make the set for you. Grinding scorpids as a hunter is easy mode. Feed and bribe your leatherworker and the scorpid set will hold you until early-mid 50's. I replaced my last scorpid piece with an early Outlands item.

However, I do disagree with KDenelor on one thing: buy all upgrade pieces if they will be used for at least 3 levels and if you have a 70 class feeding gold to your leveling class. You get a lot of bang for the buck when things cost silver or at most 2-3g and your 70 can shovel it down to them in bulks of 100g. Some common AH pieces are very good. I'd avoid purples while leveling though. They are generally overpriced and frequently don't live long enough to out do blues. Lots are twink gear and that stuff is hideously overpriced.
