What is/was your fondest moment as a Shaman?Follow

I ask this because about 2 hours ago I had mine. I beat one of the better Restoration Druids on my server (We're talking full on PvP uberness) in a duel with my Enhance Shaman. Took forever too. The duel lasted about 7 mins and by the end I won via attrition of his mana pool.

Now before the QQ: he's a healer blah blah happens let me explain a few things. First, I hate druids. And second, Resto Druids constantly snare and run from me in PvP unless I manage to get the uber drop on them, basically doing the chicken and hauling ***, costing me an HK. So this victory was sweet indeed as it taught me some more methods of shutting down the shift out of snare cheat and their healing 50% of their life back in a single spell. We both used every CD available and finally a Blust+Shamanistic Rage+War Stomp+WF crit finished the job.

Some other good times were my guild's first 10 and 25 man raids where I put up some ridiculous dps numbers that even today are among the best we have listed on WoW webstats. Downing Prince for the first time, even if you've done it 100s of times, that first time feels pretty damn good.

So how bout it my Allakhazam brethren, can you reach deep down and remember when you enjoyed your shaman, what moment sticks out in your mind?

On a side note: For Pete's sake Blizzard needs to nerf healing oneself, not me in a raid mind you, but if a healer targets and heals himself in PvP he should auto-die.

Well, my shaman is only 43, but every moment since I got dual-wield has been my fondest. I can tear through enemies so quickly... it's insane. I love it! I'm addicted! Haha :-P

I tanked scholo as a elemental shaman at level 60 that was really fun for me. But I try to tank things a lot just back then I was always told no way could never happen lol. Since then I have tanked a lot of the new BC instances as well as shattered halls all on non heroic but it is a lot of fun for me to play pretend and have a fun time tanking instances.

I leveled Elemental from Water Shield to 70. And I hated every minute of it. PvP sucked, I felt like an instant-reliant dueling Arcane Mage, PvE was boring with one button LB spam... I was miserable. Then I changed to Resto... and holy cow... it was like a whole new class. Despite all the shortcomings, I absolutely love playing Resto. In PvE, of course, but especially in PvP, where my true love lies.

This is still kinda lame since I haven't played my shaman that much but, yesterday I hit outlands with him and can't wait to get all those nice enha & resto rewards. I had to run to hfp earlier from shattara since I needed to train my herbalism in thralmar past 300. Funny that my herb skill was 365 when I entered outlands and there is trainer to get over 300 =)

I was thinking about going enhacement all the way to 70 and still get some more healing gear since I love how enha works. But in the end I still think resto is the way. Already have dps (fire mage) so need something else now =)

Hmmm. Fondest moment you say?

I guess it was about a month or two after I had hit 70, I already had a 70 warrior and was more or less just grinding reps with all the factions in an effort to get the best gear (at the time, was not long after TBC came out, I leveled 1-70 in like 9 days /played which was like... 14 days real time). I had a couple weeks off work, so sue me.

And yeah I did take vacation for this. Smiley: lol

I was one of maybe 5-6 level 70 Alliance shamans on the whole server, and despite having been enhancement spec the whole journey to 70, was decently geared to both Elemental and Restoration specs. I got accepted (not sure how) to the best Alliance guild on the server and ended up being in their 3rd Karazhan group. After a dismal couple of runs and lackluster performance from me, I ended up leaving the guild to learn how to play Resto spec.

I wasn't having that much fun healing all the time so I eventually switched to Elemental and became good friends with a Resto spec Shaman, we both joined a fledgling raiding guild but built a 5 person heroic static group with both of us in it. Eventually it became a 3 shaman warrior paladin group that absolutely demolished any heroic and we were having tons of fun. Heroic Old hillsbrad before the nerf though.. :shudder:

We finally got up to prince in Karazhan and my fondest moment was being one of 3 people alive with Prince at about 6-7% health. Popping everything I had and getting him to 1% before I died. But popping back alive with an ankh and toasting his *** with frost shock for the win.

That was fun Smiley: grin

I just respec'd to Enhance after my 1-70 trip as Elemental.

I'd say I've been Enhance for about 3 weeks now and finally got rid of almost all my green's I had bought on AH. Funny things is that most of my blue's came from there too.

Anyway needless to say I went into Heroic Mech with mostly blues and a couple epix, including the badge offhand and sat at the threat cap the entire run, only pulling aggro once.

I ran at 610 dps average for the entire run and had everyone in the party asking how in the hell I was passing 600 dps in all AH blues with a couple of epix, one a too fast MH dagger. It was a nice feeling to know that I had that much control over my threat even with the occasional windfury triple crit, but could still put out awesome dps for my gear.(first on damage done, dps and lawls 20k healing done)

( go ahead and check out my gear, name/realm is in the sig)

(The tank was pretty badass though so wasn't as hard as it could have been)

Windfury FTW!

It is telling of the decline of the class that my fondest moment was easily two whole years ago, back before TBC, even before the Shaman 'review' that trivialised Windfury. I was about level 40-ish, and was running around with the strongest gear it was possible to have for a Shaman at that level, SM mail gear and the glorious Corpsemaker (fiery enchant too).

I was roaming around STV when I got jumped by a Priest and a Warrior, 37 and 42, in an enclosed space (hate STV terrain at times) so I couldnt run, the only thing I could use for cover was a giant tree stump. I attacked the Warrior more out of reflex than anything else, but quickly discovered Priests have healing spells. I ended up Frost Shock kiting the Warrior around the tree stump which broke LoS with the Priest, got a lucky Windfury and downed him. After that, the Priest was an easy kill, since Purge kills HoTs and shields, if I recall correctly I one-shotted him and his 1.7k health pool...

Those were the days...

hmmmmm my favorite moment as of yet is when my guild and i were doing prince in kz, our hunter was a bit drunk and after our first wipe he accidently misdirected prince on to me. So im just buming around when in huge letters DBM announces AGGRO FROM PRINCE in the middle of my screen and i see his 40 ft tall body galivanting over to 1 shot me for 20k dmg and then proceed to wipe the rest of the raid. Yeah we had a laugh at our hunter(his name was babycarrots, dunno why but i think its funny).

After that my second favorite moment happend when me in my nub blues and random epics managed to pull aggro off of our GM in t5 equivlent tanking gear. This happened on the same prince outing amazingly enough. I was a noob back then but i still find this to be immensely funny, it wasnt even a aggro pull in the first half of the fight, but in the later half when bloodlust was in full force and after he had time to get as much agro as he could. Ele dps in almost crappy gear is simply stupid.

While specced resto in healing gear consisting mostly of cloth and leathers helping to run a bunch of lvl 50+'s through Stratholme.

Being mind controlled/possessed by the Baroness.

Wiping the floor with the other 4 party members.

When they were all dead, having enough mana left over to res a couple of them.

That was such fun! Pity it wasn't really *me* doing it though ;)

This is gonna sound so sad, but my great moment was at level 28. It was before TBC, and I still hadn't gotten WF addicted. I was still using rock-biter to get along, and I went into an AB. I had an annoying little gnome mage trying to pin me down the whole way and as much as I swore I couldn't quite catch him to kill him.

He gave up on killing me, dove off the lumber mill and hit feather fall. I had must enough mana to purge. The gnome fell to his death on the rocks at the bottom. An Orc warrior ran over, looked down and said, "That was #$^@ed up, man."

I've since raided enhancement, being in BT now, and I have yet to have a story that surpasses that one. Even when I tank trash in my gear where the leather-shammies get pwned, I still never got the same thrill as the offing that gnome with a purge. I guess I'm just twisted.

getting WF with a 2H against a hunter and a rogue back to back in a WSG match killed them both so fast

the other day when i was in nagrand grinding the voids in oshu'gun. This 70 belf hunter was farming there too (I was grinding out about 10k exp to ding 67).

She kills me a few times, no big deal, pvp server, she's 70, i'm 66. She kills me about 2 more times and I start to get annoyed.

I'm on my mount looking for another voidwalker, I see her running towards me with her pet. I run up to her ss/es about 40% of her health in that instant, she tries to run out of melee range, frost shock + ss her to about 15%. A random belf hunter who was also farming starts attacking me to try and save his fellow horde, I manage to kill her about a second before I die. I run back and rez and notice the second hunter is there, he /apologize /hug towards me and I do the same, then we dance as the other hunter rez's and runs away. :)

Tearing through something like 5 or 6 allies in wsg flag room, one by one (sometimes two by two), when I was 49. They kept running back in and I'd keep slaughtering them. Ah, to be 49 again....

Edit: Actually, I forgot -- at 61 was doing the towers quest in HFP when I got ganked by a 66 feral druid. Killed him w just a sliver of my own health left. He never came back. That was also satisfying.

Farming rugged leather from the yetis in Winterspring with Jon on his prot pally. This rogue appeared, attacked me (of course), I popped into ghost wolf, had the pally hit me with blessing of protection, and bounced out of range to cast earth shield on the pally and start throwing out lightning bolts and shocks. This happened about five times, each time he would attack me first and then run when the pally started hitting him--I would follow, alternating ghost wolf and frost shock to slow him so the paladin could catch up, and we killed him every time. The last time, though, was the best--he was down to low low health, and I somehow managed to get close enough, still in ghost wolf, to bite him. He died. It was awesome, and probably pretty embarrassing for him, too.

I think my favorite moment so far has been in WSG. My group was composed of me and 4 warriors and it was, as usual, a flag standoff. We blitzed their FR with me dropping windfury totem and bloodlust. I don't think I even saw their FC's health bar go down he just died. Funniest moment I've seen in a good while.

Posted this some point in past I think, but...

Early in BC, went immediately for Allied shammy.
In Un'Goro, the gorilla cave.
Hunter pet takes me on during a mob fight.
I kill the mob, charge the hunter, and get him down to about 10% before he kills me.
He /spits on me, then /dances on my corpse.
I ankh rez and beat the snot out of him.
The true joy was the thoughts of him desperately pounding his keyboard to break out of dance and figure out what the hell was happening.
So, I /spit /danced and hung about his corpse for, ohhh, about 10 minutes and moved on.
Then proceeded to continue kicking the snot out of him all afternoon, every time I saw him, usually waiting till he was in combat.
Think I got him about 10-12 times. Funny bit was every time he saw me he'd run, every time I caught up he'd /beg or /salute.
That was a fun afternoon.

I normally dont post much, but I had to when I saw this thread. My fondest moment was pvp'ing at lvl 49 as an enhanement shammy. I was doing AB at the time and ran into a hunter. At first it was just me and him and I was kicking his trash until some of his buddies showed up. Needless to say I died shortly after. Well, his buddies moved on and I noticed the hunter was still standing by my body with only a sliver of health left. I quickly hit my rez button and before he could even react I earth shocked him gave him a couple quick hits and he was dead. I thought it was the funniest thing in the world and well worth using my self rez. Sure I died again right after when his buddies returned, but I didnt care. It was also nice to come out of the BG's at that lvl with the most KBs and HKs.

Finally hit 49 and decided to WSG a bit when I got the opportunity to pull the suprise ress and kill on a hunter that thought it would be funny to /dance on my corpse with his back to me, effectively rubbing his *** in my face. It was a close fight so he didn't have much health left so one more frost shock put him down after I ressed. I /waved and sent him packing.

PvP with a shaman is nowhere near as bad as i've been led to believe it was gonna be.
