Stuff not covered in the FAQ...Follow

I looked through the FAQs: The one in the wiki and the one here on the forum. What is missing is some essential information for the warrior that's leveling.

We all know (I think) that warriors are equipment-dependent. But nowhere does it say what equipment we should be looking for at what levels. If this class is anything at all like warlock, there should be a basic stat set (of the...) to look for at the early levels: of the bear? of the boar? I dunno.

1. What base stats should I be looking for?
2. When is the time to start collecting +crit? L40, or sooner than that? What should my stats be before I start giving up some (STR?) for +crit?
3. The same question, except for each of the other things I should be collecting equipment for, like +hit and +etc..
4. What should I look for at L20? L30? L40? L50? L60? Don't worry about teling me what to get at L70 - that should be self-evident.
5. Don't bother trying to tell me what to look for in the way of PvP stuff - I'm not really looking to twink my warrior for battlegrounds.

Hopefully (and with any luck) the good answers to these questions can be included in an update to the FAQ, so that other people looking for the same info won't have to ask the same questions again.

... Also, from the Department of Redundancy Department: Why does the FAQ have a section labled "Frequently asked Questions"?

i put together a 1-70 guide a long time ago, and all of the build advice is really outdated. there's still some good tips on gear and where to get it in there though. a lot of good advice on ability use as you level up as well. i'll cook up some copypasta if anyone's looking for quick answers:

1.

where to get gear:
head over to wow-loot.com for a list of the best instance drops. any slots not on that list you want to fill out with ah greens in this order of preference:

under level 58

1 - of the bear (str + stam)
2 - of strength/power
3 - of stamina
4 - of the tiger (str + agi)

tbc introduced new item stat budgets, stam is now 1.5x cheaper

level 58+

1 - of the soldier (str + stam + crit)
2 - of the bear (str + stam)
3 - of strength/power
4 - of the beast (str + agi + stam)
4 - of the bandit (agi + stam + ap)
4 - of the champion (str + stam + def)
5 - of stamina
5 - of the tiger (str + agi)

all the others are pretty worthless to warriors. if you stack str/ap on every slot available, all the other stats will fall in line. you really shouldn't have any trouble pulling two mobs at a time if you keep your gear up to date. green gear gets 'old' after about 5 levels, and blue gear after 7-8 levels. a couple old pieces won't hurt you though.

whenever you hit the ah, always search for gear 2-3 levels above you to maximize your chances of finding a good deal. having a couple nice pieces waiting in the bank can provide some motivation for levelling.

2. crit really doesn't start to show up on gear til the 50's, and at that point it's really not worth it to go out of your way to chase it, imho. i mean if you can find people to help you farm it, more power to you.

3. hit is pretty much the same, the ring off princess theradras in mara is really good though.

4. 30 - zerker stance quest and ww weap quest also would be a good time to get a slow 2H and an imp slam build

5. 40 - plate, obviously... get those outlands enchants on them too. if you're on a pvp server you'll want to switch to a mortal strike build at this point.

6. 50 - class ST quest has a couple decent rewards. at this point, solo prot becomes much more viable with the availability of devastate, but you can still tank as arms or fury if you know what you're doing.

oh and if you really wanna give your warr a head start... put a couple arcanums on level 10 gear, get the haste to glove chant, and a counterweight for a good 2H... 130% haste at level 10 turns a 3.2 speed 2H into a 1.4 speed 2H... just ridiculous, really.
