Hello all,
I've been a lurker in these forums for about 2 years now, but I’ve never been motivated to sign up and post. Well that changed yesterday.
First off, before I found this fountain of knowledge called the rogue forum I knew virtually nothing about my class. So in my first post, let me give a big "Thank you" and Kudos to all of you who have taken (and still do so) the time to guide and teach those who are willing to learn. Even to those impertinent warriors who from time to time stop by.
That being said, I especially like when Theo gets fired up. It seems like his anger actually brings me joy… So, it being Friday and me needing entertainment at work, I've decided to post a link to my guild's rogue forum for some interesting reading.
Background: the guild recently established a group of new class masters in an attempt to increase our raiding success. The new rogue *** master, errr I mean Class Master, has some interesting new mandates that really hit home why Theo gets so worked up over idiots. It's a bit of a long read, but for those of you who have nothing to do at work this morning – Enjoy!

You guys have a good argument and you both bring up good points but I think your class master is looking at the wrong things. I believe he should be looking at DPS as the operative "stat" as increasing one stat exponentially ie. HR to 250 is not the right way to go about things. This guy needs to read the theorycrafting sites more and also listen to the people in his class.

He's just telling you basically, "until you out DPS me, STFU" which isn't right.
Well, I out DPS him, and I'm saying that he's a ******* moron. There isn't a hit rating requirement because you gem/enchant for DPS; it just so happens that more often than not, hit is our greatest DPS boost.
Please, tell your rogue leader grats (here's his armory, for those curious), he's ******* terrible if he can only pull 1000 DPS with the gear he's got.
You can go ahead and show him that a rogue with worse gear (I'm actually laughing at how much better his gear is right now; I've got 1878 AP and 301 hit) pulls 1400+ DPS on Naj. This is with morons in my guild that can't pop Naj's bubble, thus decreasing my DPS time.

Thanks for the responses guys. It really is too bad, as I know a lot of good people in that guild. I'll probably just stop raiding altogether until this douche leaves or is kicked. I guess I'll need to go read up on PvP now...
This guy is a recent addition that was /gkicked from the #1 alliance guild on our pitiful server. It's always entertaining to discover just how uninformed even so-called accomplished players are regarding the theory behind their class. Thanks again and good luck over the weekend.

I dont know how many times I will see a rogue roll on something that is a complete downgrade massively, but it has 1-2 more hit rating, under the assumption that since they are not hit capped this new item will somehow magically become better.
Everything else being equal 1% hit will do 1% more dmg(yes i know for various reasons this is a big simplification).
But i will see a rogue(mage aslo are guilty of this.) lose a ton of crit, agi, and attack power to get a very minimal hit upgrade, under the magical assumption that hitting more often by .1% of the time is somehow going to compentate for the 40 attackpower loss, the 15 crit and the 10 agi, or somthing other significantly silly like that.

Yeah. I don't know what the hell this guy is thinking. Thanks for the support. Being drunk on Saturday night ( and having just shot a terrible 89 at the golf course I was playing today), maybe I'll flame him completely and see if he tries to kick me. What do you think? Complete drunken flame or excersise restraint? My money's on complete drunken flame!

reminds me of the time (in 1.x) when the guild's mt came up with a prot build for warrs that didn't include shield slam. anyone who took the build got a 25% dkp bonus. i suggested dropping one point from imp heroic to pick up shield slam, the GL said 'no, it's gotta be exact point-for-point.' started an anonymous thread at the oboards that was 100% in support of me but they wouldn't change their minds. hated leaving them like that, but i xferred off that server shortly thereafter.

Seriously, it's not like he put mana regen on his chest or something. 26 AP is a good enchant for hands; it just happens that 15 agility is better (and should be what he gets, yes). For all you know he's been trying to find 15 agility but was unsuccessful; or he knows he should but just keeps forgetting. Judging someone for using the second-best enchant for a slot makes you the moron, not him.
