wow, um, may i suggest starting with capjacks FAQ? by solo'ing a prot pally do you mean leveling by yourself as prot? or grinding dailies/farming at 70 solo as prot? your questions are very vague. read the sticky, maybe some of the other stickies would be helpful too depending on what you're really asking.

It all depends on your level, but for reckoning specced prot you NEED a 1h with 2.00 speed or faster to use reckoning with 100% efficiency. If you are going ret then you need a really really slow 2h for high top end dmg.
At lower levels (pre 60 mainly) enchants are better than armor kits, after that armor kits become a lil better (adding stam and what not) then there are those epic armor enhancers (the ones that are crafted I don't really remember any of the names)
