I am a long time lurker here and just feel I need to say something for a change.

I decided after looking for pally tanks all the time to roll one for myself. So I rolled a BE pally (pretty gay I know - wish I had another option horde-side) on a new PvP server where I have some friends. Am currentl at level 68 and I love this pally so much. Am prot specced and I never have to wait more than 5 minutes for a group for any instance. CC? who cares, tanking 4-5 mobs is easy (from a threat perspective at least!). Grinding is relatively fun when I take 4-6 mobs at once. It's actually way faster to grind multiple mobs at once than it is to single target them. If I am grinding with my mage friend we kill mobs so fast that we are restricted by spawns (and those evil alliance who drop outta the sky) more than anything else.

I havent tried Ret (in the later levels) yet but am thinking of going ret to grind out some battlegrounds at 69 for the S2 healing mace and maybe an S2 2hander.

In short, pallies are just awesome. I can do anything I like without having to re-roll (except maybe ranged dps - but I have my lock for that). Thanks to all those great pallies on this forum whose advice made this class go from a grind at the beginning to a fun experience once I knew what I was doing. I'll be back post kara as all the info I want/need now is already in the stickies :)

Good luck all of you and thanks
Sacer (Twilight's Hammer EU)

I admit, I've picked up my pld which sat naked in tanaris for 3 years and have been loving it ever since. I personally abhore the grinding method of lvling though, so I've gone from ret - prot when I have a bunch of instance quests and then back to ret for soloing.

I definitely enjoy tanking much more with a pld than a war or a druid. Only at 63 so far, but enjoying the lvling process.

Well I would just like to thank the sticky posters :}

Cap Jack's FAQ was a great intro. Put me on the right track a long time ago.
Losie's gear guide (which I found at about level 63 and I am still assembling) has made life so much better. Our guild was struggling for tanks and now my pally is getting close to be being Kara ready.
Now we're struggling for healers...

My first... in many ways was a Prot Pally.
First toon on my account.
First 70.
First Kara run.
First.... well you piece all the stuff in the middle.

I still LOVE this toon. She really is the best (my shammy is hitting a close second, even though the qq is pretty close to true... though the general public still crys way to much).
The stickies were such a great help and I was a pally forum lurker for months before I actually posted too. Seen a lot of forums and this is truly the best pally one out there!
The stickies carried me all the way to 68ish.
The crew (and Jack as I mailed him a few times) were SO helpful.

Long live the Paladin!!!
And rum around for you all!!!

The Title says it all.

And let me add my thanks to the sticky posters, My pally wouldn't be where he is today without that tank guide.

Just one tip from me. It might be a matter of preferrence but you might want to try a shockadin over retadin for PvP. Me and my palls generally laugh at retadins because (with me being a disc priest) they simply can't do a thing against me mana burning them empty and going /bored at them. One of my palls is a shockadin and is quite passionate about it.

Let me add my voice to this as well, have a lvl 32 Pally and have just gone prot!! my first fight as prot was against a 32 worg thing in duskwood. Oh crap i thought what have i let my self in for the fight lasted about 2-3 minutes, i ended on full health and mana but i was surfing the net for most of it!!

but got new one hander and have been having an absolute blast!! so much more fun than my hunter and my lock at that level.
