Solo Int Gear?Follow

#1 Jul 10 2008 at 7:00 AM Rating: Decent
I am a level 49 blood elf hunter and I wanted to know if i should go all Int and Spirit gear for soloing. I know it sounds crazy, but I was thinking, if I am going to be sitting back while my pet tanks and deals just as good damage, wouldn't it be more beneficial to me to have more int gear for the nukes of arcane and more sprt gear so i can keep going without stopping every 2 mobs, like I do now.

I'm full agi, and i'm at +171.

anyone think this is a smart idea?

For levelling you should go Agi with a mix of Int and Stamina.

I used 70% Int, 30% Stamina which seemed about right.

Spirit will do next to nothing for a hunter, it only kicks in when you are not casting for a certain period (5 seconds is it??) Int is ok to have but I wouldn't focus on it. Agility is where its at. If you want to nuke things you need attack power and/or agility. If you swap out all of your agility for int then you will be throwing spit balls at the mob, although you would be able to throw those spit balls a lot longer....it wouldn't matter.

And I don't believe INT does anything for your arcane shot nor does spell damage (again correct me if I am wrong alla folk)

I tend to take anything with good Agility while levelling , anything else that comes with it is just a small bonus.

Int and Spirit are not that great for a hunter , but i guess a little Int does help cast a bit longer.

The Spirit only helps if you are using Auto Shot most of the time as if you use any Spell Shot it stops working , of course if you then only use Auto Shot so the Spirit works then you no longer need the boost from spirit.

Sta is worth getting as well but and i state But if you are a bM hunter then Agility is your God anyway , You say you are full Agility but the other stats must still be boosted by what you already have , If you want more of the other stats i would not go for less agility but try and find pieces that are more agility but have also got the stat you want.

When you get the Steady shot and spam it then you will see if you need more intellect , but until then i would not worry to much.

I hope that makes sense ?

Under normal play my 70 rarely runs that low on manna , in groups with the buffs working i still hardly get low on manna , and i still look for agility first or Attack Power and any other stat is just a bonus as the harder you hit the faster they fall so you use less manna.

Remember your AP also adds to your pets AP.

So if you are sacrificing either Agi or Ap for Int, you are lowering both you and your pets DPS.

So, playing pretend, if you exchange one piece of gear, that has 15 agi, for a piece that has 15 int. That will give you enough MP for, what, one more arcane shot? But you lose ap, or a couple points of damage for every single attack(auto and special) that both you and your pet do. Will that extra arcane shot make up for the lost damage per hit? I doubt it.

I wouldn't specifically search for Int gear. But sometimes it can be an improvement when leveling. But if the numbers are equal, Agi should take precedent over int.

If you want more int while keeping your agi up I would try and use "of the falcon" gear. It will give you both those stats.
