I levelled with and still use BM talents. Lately I have just been pvp'ing (BG's) and not much of anything else (besides some dailies and helping guildmates once in a while).

I am hesitant to respec to MM because I am so used to all my BM skills/keybindings, etc.

What do you think? Will respeccing to MM give an advantage (after I am used to it) or is my BM build good enough for what I am doing at the moment? Or is there some "super" build for BG's ;)

Build: see Valasca underneath.

In my eyes that's pretty far into BM you've gone, maybe a little too far.
If you stayed BM I'd try and go to 20 into MM to get Mortal shorts maxed.

I can't comment on whether you should switch to MM/SV but there are some nice PVP builds out there which you'd likely see an improvement in switching to.

Also remember that the dailies are pretty easy and even with a completely PVP spec you should have no problem completing them.

As a former PvP MM hunter I can tell you, that is the spec for BG's. I just blasted out damage and kills galore. If you can pick the right sniping spots, you'll have most players down or near death before they can even get to you. You pray they have a mana bar just so you can kill them faster and torque them off. If you have healing support, mana regen support, you are a killing machine.

Arena is NOT the same. Arena tends to be Hunter unfriendly. Your sniping spots are limited and your spec is less important because combat time is more reduced. BM has a slight advantage in the opening moments due to BW and the increased pet damage. However, after BW is done, you likely will either die or win before the CD is up again. It's during that time that MM comes to the forefront. The talents are really good for keeping players cussing at their screens. You have good dps plus you can silence and slow.

So, it depends on exactly what you want to do. You can do well with BM in PvP but MM is more of the PvP spec.

I'll preface by saying that I'm a PvE player, but I've done plenty of BGs over time. I have done zero Arena, so I have no idea how spec applies to Arena. Anyway...

The two key talents in MM tree that I found very useful for PvP are Scatter Shot and Silencing Shot. I especially liked having Silencing Shot for interupting casters. I could just picture someone on the receiving end swearing at their monitor cursing hunters and Silencing Shot.

Also, having extensively played BM and MM, my take is that the key difference between the two is burst damage (MM) versus sustained damage (BM). In the shorter fights of BGs, the burst damage of MM (and having Scatter and Silencing shots) makes it better for PvP. Again, I know nothing of Arena, so I don't know if that applies to Arena.

My 2 copper.

BM is more the burst damage spec where MM is the long sustained slow drain type of play in arena's.
And 11/41/9 or a variant thereof is the only thing viable in arena's for a hunter

Unless this is more Armory wonkiness, you need to enchant your gear and put a scope on your bow. Get your hit up to about +75 to never miss on other 70s in PvP.

I was a long time marks player and to keep things fresh i switched to BM.

If you're main thing is battlegrounds and some raiding, I would stick with BM. Unless there was a serious whole in my play style I used to have the worst time with rogues and warriors.
And there are so many of them.

Now they're a joke.

So i would say it's a matter of what you seem to run into the most. If you're facing lots of casters, I would go with marks. If you see rogues/warriors to no end i would stick with BM.

I intent to do arenas, so I did go with a MM respec and I've been practicing with it in battlegrounds.

At first I felt clumsy having to relearn different skills management. If you do try it, stay with it for a few days even if it's uncomfortable at first.

I had to relearn how to kill casters. But Silencing shot, Imp Conc Shot, and Imp Stings for mana draining work very well against priests, caster druids and warlocks. Shaman, and Paladin take more time but can be brought down. Still having some trouble with mages at times.

Imp Conc. Shot, Imp Wing Clip, and Scatter Shot have made it easier for me against melee classes. I also have Deterrence and I like it.

So (again for me, others may have different opinions) I find MM more flexible and reliable.

Then again, I am no longer raiding.

I do have a neckpiece, well I did last night anyway.

Yes I know I have to upgrade my melee weapon. I am rather attached to this one (sorry, sounds really stupid, I know). Next thing I am gonna get.

What is your opinion about This build? I would not have to change a lot and won't have to get used to a lot of other spells/abilities.

Strange if I click it, it works.

It was not a build I made up myself btw, found it somewhere.

If you're just going to do BGs and dailies, I would recommend staying BM and that's also a better spec for five mans/heroics/raiding if you wanted to do those as well without respeccing. I had been staying in my BM raid spec for doing dailies, battlegrounds, and heroics here and there. I would only respec into my MM Arena build when it was time to Arena because BM is better for BGs and just farming around, doing dailies. Lately I've been doing BGs as MM just so I get used to that play style more for Arenas.

As far as keybindings, depending on how you spec you really don't have to change much. Aimed Shot stays the same place and I just switch Intimidate out for Scatter Shot, Bestial Wrath for Silencing Shot. Then there's adding Trueshot Aura and Deterrence in their places.

My raid spec.
Current Arena spec.
