So we had the Big Bad Wolf last night in the Opera event. Afterwards I was thinking that it would be nice to have a macro which you could click which would target Little Red Riding Hood and the next click would throw a shield up. I didn't pay attention, but I assume that you couldn't just put /target Little Red Riding Hood. Any ideas? Target's target perhaps?

It's probably possible, but you need a hell of a shield to save the life of someone with 0 armor. They might make it through the first hit, but probably not the second.

Edit: Then again, this is the only Opera event I've yet to receive, so maybe it's useful. Either way, target of target is probably the way to go.

Even making it through the first hit would help. It seems that half the time someone gets one-shot as LLRH it's because they don't have their bearings yet to start doing laps.

When someone gets turned into little red riding hood, the healers will try to mitigate the damage on the runner as best they can. I'll throw a PW:Shield, Prayer of Mending, renew, Flash Heal, anything that is quick while they are running by in range. You may not be able to shield the entire amount of damage, but you may keep the runner alive.

In that regard, addons or macros that help you target and heal faster are a good thing. The person sacrificed by Illhoof is another example where the faster the healer is aware and can take action, the better.

That looks like it would probably work. I may give it a try. By setting up that macro, it virtually guarantees that we won't see that event in Opera until September. :)

Mind Flay and Frostbolt slow BBW. That helps.

Other than that, either the listed macro, or simply paying lots of attention. There should be at least 2-3 seconds between when the person is changed and when BBW actually starts whacking on them, which is plenty of time to target that person, especially if you have Deadly Boss Mods or something similar to call out who has it.

My first Opera event was the Big Bad Wolf. I found that if the person who was Little Red Riding hood was on top of things and actually started running when they were supposed to, I had no trouble popping up my shield, renew, and start spamming flash heals. The only ones I couldn't get to in time probably wouldn't have had a chance even if I could get the shield up seeing as they didn't run away from BBW.
