http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Anvilmar&n=Rabidbear

Hmm...I'm the only one on at 5 A.M.

Crit Immune. Check
16k Armor. Check
14k HP. Check
25% Dodge. Good enough

You seem set to me, I'd pick you up for a PuG.
I'll leave it to the Ferals to nitpick specific upgrades.

This is a pure tank build?

Savage Fury is a good talent, Druids need every bit of help for AoE tanking that they can get with Claw. I'd steal the points from Shapeshifter if you're not PvPing. (especially now that Powershifting is broken)

Primal Tenacity is better than Nurturing Instinct for pure tanking, as Instinct only affects the healing taken while in kitty form.

I would say no....your armor is to low. Why did get the PvP helm? You shoulda spent that honor on the shoulders. Also, your missing 2 good pieces from the Shadowmoon Valley questlines. Its cake to get your armor up to 20k, where it should be before heroics.

Also, gem for stam, enchant for agi seems to be the way to go imo....

Edit: Farm the mats and get someone to make you the vest to finish off that set...it is gonna last you awhile...

Totally agree with yodale, no you're not ready -- not even close, frankly. Health is solid, but you'd get decimated in a heroic with 16k armor and 25% dodge. And with all those AHgreens your AP/crit/dps/tps is way to low to hold aggro in the face of heroic-class DPS and the healing you'd require. Armor needs to be AT LEAST 20k and dodge 30% even with a group that knows what you bring to the table, and I'd say considerably more (24-25k and 32-33%) if you're dropping into a PuG where they'll be expecting you to be able to be healable and hold aggro.

You need to run, not walk, to the famous "how to gear your bear for raiding" sticky in Emmerald's forum, then bookmark Emmerald's list and write down your to-do list for the next little while.

Every heroic/raiding bear knows the list by heart as they wore it at some point. Basically, you need the PvP shoulders (you'd know if you read the list that THAT needs to come before the helm and chest), you need Manimal's Cinch for your belt, Umberhowl's collar for your bracers, at least Valiant Cloak of the Defender on your back, but preferably Thoriumweave cloak, Heavy Clefthoof Vest. And you need better rings and trinkets: iron band of the unbreakable, mok'nathal clan ring, badge of tenacity, adamantine figurine is a set that's easy to get and works well.

Okay...aside from what the other posters have said about your gear (which I agree is not good enough. I think 16k armor is acceptable for warriors and paladins in a heroic, but definitely not for bears), you need to take a look at your spec. I am kind of confused at what you are trying to go for with it. It isn't a pvp spec because you don't have primal tenacity or brutal impact, yet you have natural shapeshifter and Nurturing instinct, neither of which help at all in tanking. It isn't a soloing spec, because you don't have Brutal impact or Savage fury, yet you do have other soloing talents (or group dps talents, I guess) like shredding attacks.

Okay, now that I have ridiculed your current spec, may I suggest this as a spec good for tanking, soloing, group dps, and pvp?

thanks guys i didnt think i was close but figured i would ask. i farmed the mats for the chest piece and now have all three of the cleft armor pieces. i went with the helm cause i dindt have the mats for a diff one and the marks from eots is a pain for some reason. i do plan on getting it helm was just faster upgrade. i'm gonna check out that pre heroics list. i have checked out an emeralds list but it was just a list and didnt list the order of whats better than what. i may have just had an error on internet who knows. thanks for the info on the 20k armor for heorics so far havent seen a list for it. normaly its about kara. I have noticed that my threat is lacking in norms it seems when epiced peeps join. i tryed to pick up a few + hit gems since uncritable and had 29% dodge at the time. I look into some gear and post later on it if ya'll dont mind takeing a few min to look at it. i hate doing rate my gear but for once i need it lol.

Alright man, here's the deal.

The list is listed from top being the best and bottom being the worst as far as Emmerald's list.

Also when you gem for tanking you have two goals.

First goal is 14k Health. Gem for stam until you reach that.

Second goal is gem for agility. Agility gives you crit chance, armor, but most importantly Dodge. You need roughly 30% dodge.

Next on the agenda. Do not ever gem for hit unless you are way over on all the required stats for the current amount of progression you have. Hit is very low on our agenda when it comes to tanking stats. Your DPS needs to watch their threat meter because yeah sometimes we miss, but if you gem for hit over stam and agil you will end up dead and you can't miss if you're dead.

Also with the 3 pieces of Clefthoof, the quest reward bracers and belt, the PVP shoulders, a bear tanking cloak of your choice.( one with high armor is a must. There are a couple crafted ones you can pick up for a price), and then putting together a couple rings with armor is a big plus. You already have Braxxis so that's good, but the PVP gloves would be an upgrade for you as well.

Pleasepleaseplease don't gem for anything except stamina and agility until you can take a crushing blow from any boss that can give one out and can dodge a bullet.

I was tank from 1-70 and still have my tanking set getting upgrades, but I'm healy spec'd for the moment(damn lack of healers) , so if you armory me, that's what you'll see. I have sets for all 3, kitty dps, bear tank and tree healy so I have a little experience in all 3.

You're on the right track definitely and your gear isn't bad, just not ready for heroics.

thanks for input. yeah i just changed from boomkin. havent done any quest in SMV or nether storm. so all quest gear from there is still for grabs. i plan on getting S2 shoulders soon only reason got helm is i had all marks and needed fast upgrade my helm sucked. was thinking S3 gloves since from my understanding (havent looked yet) they are cheapest and no min ranking needed.

Yeah dps pulls sometimes i tend to have to pug alot due to work hours. i figured the +hit would help. i only have 1k atk power atm dodge is at about 28% and crit is like 26% i think.

trying to get the CE rep weapon guildies let me tag along and do my crap kitty dps in H SP. for some rep. now reveared with them.

Thanks for info on spec. i dont know what i was thinking when i did mine and i havent really looked at it since i've went feral. I may have been leaning alittle to the right.

Looks like i have some work to do.

Well, you might as well go for the S4 gloves as they don't require a rating either.
