Sorry new to this and read everywhere but still havent found the answer, so here goes. On the character page where you out your weapon, shield and then it says relics, what do you put in this slot?

Exactly what is says: a relic. More specifically though are items called "Librams". Those are the Paladin specific Relics. Shaman get Relics called "Totems" and Druids get Relics called "Idols".

The first one you can encounter, I believe, is one that increases the armor granted by Devotion Aura and it drops in Blackrock Depths, so after level 50. They are more plentiful in Outland though, just you can't get any at all prior to the 50s.

Thnx for your help on that.

This seems like a good place to ask this....I've always wondered why pallies can't get a libram until 50 or later. When I leveled up my mage, I always had a wand which gave +stats. The pally has to run around with an empty slot during approx half of the leveling process.

Does anyone have a good explanation for this?

Ranged weapons and wands help out while leveling, and those have just never been an option for Paladins. There's really no reason to have a libram at all, just nice for the effects. For a while there wasn't even a libram in the game, they just added that so that Paladins, Druids, and Shamans could have SOMETHING in that slot.

I agree, there's no real reason to make items from 1-50 for the Relic slot. The effects would be so minimal it's not worth spending the time to create. Relics are not a completely necessary part of a Paladin's gear set, but do provide a nice bonus to some aspect of the Paladin. The only time I can think of that a Relic would be a "necessity" for a Paladin is a Prot Paladin gearing up to tank raids and getting the extra avoidance from Libram of Repentance.

I do wish that Relics gave some stats as well though. Every class that can use a ranged weapon of any kind gets that slot for additional stats, but Paladins, Shaman, and Druids do not. Don't get me wrong, having these are MUCH better then having access to nothing at all, but they could have been slightly better.

Since there is already a thread on Relics/Librams, I would like to ask one question:

I spent 99% of my time in bg/arena and I've noticed a lot of Holy Paladins use the Libram that gives 31/34 Resilience for 6 seconds after a FoL is cast on the target. (Sorry I don't know how to link the item but I'm someone knows what I'm talking about). At the moment, I'm using "Blessed book of Nagrand" (Increases healing by up to 79 when Flash of Light is Cast".

So my question is, in pvp, which libram is better? Would the "up to 79" be better because I will be healing more or the 31/34 resilience be more beneficial? Any input would be nice, thanks. :D

79 healing isn't going to make or break you, and correct me if I'm wrong but I'm under the impression flash of light only takes into account 43% of bonus healing. So that nagrand quest libram will only be increasing your non crit heals by an average of 34 hp per cast.

I don't really see that being enough to make or break you. However, in the arena you will probably be casting flash of light a whole lot. Which means that resilience buff will most likely be up quite a bit.

In the end, it'd be up to personal preference I suppose - but if I were a holy pally in arena, I would probably use the +resil FoL trink.
