Not counting sunwell gear, what piece of T6 would you sub out if you had a choice?
Hood of the Malefic vs Cowl of the Illidari Highlord
Mantle of the Malefic vs Blood-Cursed Shoulderpads/Hatefury Mantle (although I think the T6 shoulder is better than both but others disagree)
Robe of the Malefic vs Vestments of the Sea-Witch
Leggings of the Malefic vs Leggings of Channeled Elements
The T6 Gloves are basically the best till Sunwell

/quote oaken. legs are what you should sub out if you want the greatest gains. T6 shoulders beat well.. everything pre-sunwell.. the rest of the pieces do have upgrades but they're only minor except for the legs where channeled elements is quite a large improvement
Vashj robes + T6 legs is really, really close to T6 chest + Channeled Elements.
By taking Vashj robes + T6 legs, you get 15 intellect (~4 crit rating) and 34crit, at the cost of 2 sockets, 3 damage, and ~3dmg from spirit. So... 2 sockets + 6dmg, or 38 crit? That's hair-splitting material (using common weights, that would be 30.4 pseudodamage versus 30-32, depending on how those 2 sockets were gemmed and assuming they weren't used for hit cap).
