Yet another thread about dreamstate/restokinFollow

I know there have been a ton of threads about this recently but none have really answered my question, so here's another one.

Right now I'm level 66 and feral. I like healing and it's my preferred role on my druid, but I also want to level faster than a prot warrior so I specced feral with plans to go resto at 70. Recently though there's been a lot of talk about dreamstate/restokin and it's combination of healing + damage and that sounds like a good alternative for me.

My question is this. Every other thread talks about PVP or raid off healing. I want to know how something like this (please correct me if I've done something stupid with the build) would hold up for general soloing/questing, 5 mans, and heroic/kara level stuff. My goal, like most people who go the dreamstate route, is to be able to heal well while still being able to kill things. Will I really get that if I go with this spec?

Edit: Also, I assume intellect is more important than spirit with this build, right?

That looks fairly similar to my current build as discussed recently, and I'm not sure what I'm going to do with my build but I know it's not great. My gear is pretty good considering I just respecced(easily good enough to heal through Kara), but my DPS is not very good in moonkin and although my healing is not bad in humanoid, mainly helping with MT healing and throwing up some HoTs on the raid (I kept up our SoC spamming lock no Illhoof easily which isn't bad for my first few Karas) I wouldn't feel at all confident about healing any heroic, and I am still behind a well geared priest and a tree druid with similar gear levels to me.

Although my mana regen is (very) good, not have the full resto tree means I am spamming heals a lot more than the tree druid on less targets than he can manage. In a heroic you'd need very well behaved DPS to be able to keep them and the MT up.

Id think about moving 2 point from the balance tree to improved tranquility, without the decreased threat it's guaranteed to kill you, and is important for "Oh F%^&!" moments

Soloing is perfectly viable as Restokin. Dailies are dealt with very efficiently ;)

I have healed with this build in heroics and raids and it's fine. I have even run a few heroics as dps with my healing gear and did pretty good. Not spectacular dps, but good utility and it resulted in fast and smooth runs.

It's an excellent build overall. It's like the definition of druid, in a way. Can do it all, just not as well. But close :)

Restokin is a highly viable build for both soling/dailies and 5-man/raid healing. It really packs a suprising amount of damage with great mana effeciency. I've healed all the way through ZA and a few bosses in SSC and TK with this build with great results.

The build you have listed looks fine for leveling. If you want to continue with this build at 70 you might want to switch to this http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=0tcrzqcshuZZxVcxcq . Just a minor change as Celestial Focus isn't the best in groups and the additional damage from Imporved moonfire and more points in Vengeance would be more beneficial.

While restokin is a good healing build I've found that it doesn't do quite as well as a full ToL resto build. (At least this is my opinion from T5 level, I've never run dreamstate pre-kara so I don't know how it preforms there) Another option would be this http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=0t0rzZZxVIxcqMest , which started out as my Leo the Blind build. It a standard ToL healing build with addtional points in balance to provide improved dps. While not as powered for dps as a restokin build, it still does quite well for soloing.

Several posters have mentioned that they healed through numerous 5 and
10 man instances with their Restokins which is very encouraging to anyone
interested in the build such as me. But there is one thing I would like
clarified. How many other healers, if any, were in the team? In other
words were you a main healer or not? This is especially important for
the 5 mans where I would think that there is less margin for error than
in the larger instances as far as team composition is concerned.
