It may seem like a stupid question and maybe it is. What is the "normal" stance for a dw fury warrior? Here is my situation.

I leveled the warrior as protection with/for my wife's mage. Our gear is crap as we haven't run anything beyond BF (no I'm not linking :P ). I've decided to give DW a shot now that we are 70 and got myself a pretty good build off of the stickies, but I'm left with the question of what stance is the dw fury warrior in most of the time? I figure either battle or beserker and I can see benefits and disadvantages of both. A bit of stance dance is not a problem, but hopefully I won't have to do to much.

Last but not least, we don't pvp. This is purely for grinding and questing.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Berserker stance, especially if you specced for imp serker stance. Basically for the 3% crit and 10% AP boost, makes grinding much easier. Just make sure to carry some food with ya :)

Battle stance for grinding. The extra damage taken is usually not worth the extra crit and ap. Berserker stance is good for groups where your job is to DPS. Once you get some better gear, you can grind in berserker stance, having whirlwind is pretty good dps even on a single target. If you have a mage in group often, they can kite the mob and 'tank' it. While you stay behind the mob and hit it, while in berserker stance. But I've tried that, and it takes a good mage to keep threat and kite the mob.

I'd just stick to battle stance until you need to pummel a caster mob or want to SS/WW/Cleave for some burst dps against a few mobs at once.

Honestly prot with a mage, is probably a better build. But putting on a shield and using defensive stance is more than necessary for most quests, even specced fury you can probably tank most every 5-person instance non-heroic. Primarily instances like Shattered Halls being exceptionally difficult, with many mob pulls, where a paladin can tank with much more ease

ive found berserker stance to be just fine to use if you have improved zerk.

whirlwind does wonders for your DPS. DW fury is sick with this setup. with a fairly high crit rate you will kill things faster than they can DPS you down and take less damage overall.

although its a matter of personal opinion for solo grinding
in groups always use zerker for your primary stance if your DPS as fury

Thanks for the replies. I guess the best thing to do is just try it out :).

I have little hope of getting "good gear" with this set up, so battle stance will probably be the best. My wife is just not up for the challenge of heroics or raiding. We just play these toons for the "quality time". Not complaining, she lets me spends plenty of time on my 4 other 70's :D
