i am a warlock i am lvl 70. i enjoy doing pve so i love 10 men raids and 25 men raids. currently i have 41 points in affriction and 20 points in destruction with none in demonology. i was wondering is there any better way to spend your points for great dmg for raids. i heard destruction is great but it not so great on raid bosses because of the draged out fight

My warlock knowledge reaches up to level 15... Still, basic logic would say Destruction is thé way to go. Specially when mixed with demonology for the spirit link thingy buff. Try checking out wowwiki for "warlock raiding spec", or wait until a real warlock passes by.

(Damn, I feel like I'm infiltrating all the class forums)

Generally

Before 1K spell dmg, 202 hit, 20% crit go affliction (41/0/21 or 43/xx/17 are fine). After that point go destruction. (0/21/40) It is the best raid spec you can have in mid to high end content.

Ruin is great, if you have enough +Spell Hit and +Spell Crit. If you do not, UA build will out damage a Ruin build. Without seeing your armory, can't really make any suggestions.

This is my raiding build. It's not a high damage build for affliction, but it increases raid damage, and raid damage is more important than one's personal damage (the same reason a moonkin specs for Improved Faerie Fire, or a mage specs Improved Scorch, or a shadow priest for Misery, etc.).

For 25-man raiding, you will see that your damage output will be lower than destruction, and possible demo, warlocks because you will inevitably specced for Malediction, possibly all the way up to some parts of BT/Hyjal (though I have heard it's not so much the case in late T6).

If you do want a high damage build for affliction and do decently soloing as well, this is how I would spec:

Note, though, that Curse of Doom is superior to Curse of Agony in raids, because you have more time to shadow bolt in between applications of Curse of Doom.

Also, when you have the 202 hit/20% paper doll crit (no talents)/1k+ spell damage, you should put your point from UA into Ruin. Either that, or spec DS/SnF:

Suppression is a filler talent, those points could be used better elsewhere. The problem with suppresion is that it only works for affliction spells. Even as a UA lock much of your damage is coming from shadowbolts which is a destruction spell and therefore not helped by suppression.

Suppression is best used while getting your gear up to the 202 spell hit rating. If you have 150 spell hit put 2 points in suppression to max out your affliction spells but still be on the look out for more hit gear. I'm not sure how far along you are but I would suggest the spellstrike set and the gloves off Attunmen all socketed with +spell hit and the spell hit enchants. These 3 items alone give you 145 spell hit.

However this is only for bosses, in dungeons, raid trash, or pvp it is usually better to switch out items as anything above 40 or so spell hit is a wasted stat.
