First - I'm not able to use spell check - sorry....

2nd - Who would have guessed - Armory is down... BORSOCK - VASHJ. Sorry.

I just tried AOE farming at 44.

I have 10 point in Holy - INT and no Spell knockback.
Rest in standard AOE Farm (Prot) Spec.

Other than what I can Google. Any advise. I'd really like to know a location. Maybe your opinion on spell cast. I have a Mithril Spike... Is that good enough to take on 'At Lvl' Mobs?

Any advise would be helpful.

Thanks
Borsuk

It really depends on how many mobs you want to take at a time. I found that I could easily take 3-4 without much effort, beyond that I actually needed to pay attention to judge/seal and Holy shield.

Have Ret Aura up, Blessing of Sanctuary, and Imp Righteous Fury.

Dive in, judge wisdom on first mob, seal wisdom, Consecrate, and only Holy Shield when you get a Redoubt proc, you'll save mana that way. I was also an engineer, so I tossed bombs in when I get so inclined.

As long as you don't have lots of casters, I found 3-4 to be the best # for AoEing, enough to keep Redoubt/Reckoning up, but not enough to overwhelm you.

It gets even easier if you do undead because you can drop a Holy Wrath and hit them all for big #'s, I loved 50-53 on those undead south of Andorhol.

Your first problem is that you are putting 10 points into the holy tree a little early, AoE Grinding does not depend on you to stop in mid fight and heal (no need for spell interruption talents).

Here is the build I am currently using (lvl 51)

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/paladin/talents.html?tal=0000000000000000000005320133003001525010000000000000000000000000

What you want to do is keep Seal of Light up all the time, judge it an either every mob (when you first start) or every other mob you fight to continuously heal yourself. Also whenever you have a Redoubt proc pop Holy Shield for a nice damage boost. I can easily take on 8-10 mobs my level with this build (also depends on your gear mine is pretty good for my level). Also I highly recommend getting shield spikes (Which ever you can afford they all help).

The build I posted goes to level 51, what you want to do at 44 is first get Holy Shield and max out imp holy shield, then Ardent Defender (4 Points) then Avenger's Shield and finally the last point in Ardent Defender.

Also if you are going to invest points in the holy tree after this go 5 points int 5 points imp SoR.

EDIT: Also ALWAYS have Blessing of Sanctuary and Righteous Fury up as well as Ret Aura

Is it better to judge/seal light over wisdom or the reverse?

I use Wisdom so I can drop more Consecrations/Holy Shields, but I can definately see light being helpful. I also agree with Mag, drop all points in Holy and stick them into Prot, those 10 skill point mean getting Holy shield/Avenger's shield 10 levels earlier.

It all depends on the mob/situation, I'd have to say the best path for seals and judging is have Seal of Wisdom judged on them and Seal of Light on you. Then the next mob do the reverse, this keeps up your mana efficiency and health. And consecrate you should really only be using if there are 6 mobs or more, anything lower and you're burning too much mana for too few mobs.

I suppose that since I use consecrate more often, the double dip on wisdom is OK.

You'll have to take all directions with a grain of salt ofc but here's my most efficient pull method (currently 41 full prot BE). I also cook to get the nice +stam boosts (+spi as well) from a well fed status, and BS with sharpen stones. Sometimes I'll flip the order in the sequence around but the basic principles still apply:
1. Ensure all buffs up
2. Cast Seal of Wisdom
3. Pull group of mobs (as many as I can round up in <5 sec based on area density)
4. Cast Consecration level 1 if in a group or just feel like it
5. Cast Holy Shield
6. Judge Wisdom/Apply Seal of Light*
7. Reapply Holy Shield every 10 sec, let them kill themselves on Ret Aura, HS, BoSalv, Shield Spike, while my 1 point in Reckoning and 5 in Redoubt Proc unusually often due to large influx of attackers
8. If Mana looks >70% throw out full Consecration to burn things down quicker
9. If you're geared for prot even halfheartedly and have the right talent points you'll be looting quite frequently at mobs that fall into the yellow range.

*SoL/JoL SoW/JoW is a great balancing act, reapply the seal appropriate to the bar that is lower, or balance them out and have one of each applied at all times. I prefer SoL to JoL due to the size of the groups I have attack and due to the fact that JoW also Procs due to spell dmg (i.e, Consecrate and Holy Shield)

When I hit 50 Avenger's Shield will likely become an opener for step 3, and maybe spend more time on SoW/JoW to compensate the mana lost. If that winds up slowing things down I'll make sure to update this.

If you factor in group members, the dynamic could change 180 degrees, you throw a windfury totem, vampiric embrace/touch, and any aura buffs and things may swing differently. Throw in caster mobs and mileage may vary.

As far as locations for a 44 pally, depends on your professions and the mob choices. High density areas of humanoids are usually the quickest and you pray the mobs like to flee and save you from having to pull more mobs yourself. I'm spending some time in the badlands for the frequency of mining deposits around. At your level you could probably keep Tanaris in the different pirate areas as a possibility because you can just clean the place out and get quite a few drops in the meanwhile. Just be sure the vast majority of the mobs are melee oriented (especially the dual-wield variety bring great pleasure) and you'll be set. If you can pair up with a decent rogue or hunter you can dispatch them to deal with all of your ranged pulls that happen to be in the area, or some sort of cc.
