The whole twink thing is still kinda new to me; and this being my first mage. i was wondering if i could get some ideas on gear for my mage. i want to run BG's at 29. after looking around i've came up with only 2 pieces of armor.
Robes of Arugal, and Belt of Arugal.
are these going to be any good as a twink fire mage? and is fire the way to go?
any help is greatly appreciated.

Well, possible talent builds: Fire, Frost.
Meh... neither one of these will do you much good. As a lvl 29 mage, you won't have any survivability as you don't have some character defining spells yet, like ice block. You would probably do better as a fire mage in this case with scorch and such for damage, but you'll lack any kind of control. If you go frost, you'll have some more control, but very little in the way of offensive capabilities and I don't think you'll have enough control to make up for the lack of damage.
Personally, I think that warriors, rogues and hunters will eat you alive at this level of BG.

At 20 to 29 with my frost mage I did ok with my snare effects. However 10 to 19 just flat out sucks as a mage as the twink rogues, hunters, etc eat you alive.
Notice that I used the term OK and not Great LOL. Biggest problem I have in BG's is when I get two people after me. I try to sheep one of them and about that time some newb attacks the one that is a sheep instead of the one beating the crap out of me.
But having your blizzard spell snare helps alot IMO in a BG(frost mage talent). Its great in WSG when your in the tunnel and your guy has the flag. Just use that AE and it usually can snare them enough to let your guy get a clean getaway. IMO at lvl 29 your snares will do your team more good then what DPS you will be able to dish. Once again this is all just my personal observation. My mage is currently 34 so I am not a expert with the class. But all of my talents are in Frost.

If you are going fire get the quest from the wanted poster in tauren mill and have a higher level run you through, the reward is a robe with +fire damage, very good for a green since you can get at that level but quest is actually higher.
