Not your usual warrior question, I know. This is the undead major domo in the center of Andhoral in Western Plaguelands. I've both quests to get the items that drop in his (her?) phylactery when you kill him. He's a 61 elite surrounded by groups of non-elite mobs you can pull 2-3 at a time. Im a 56 fury/arms 2H-Slam warrior. Usually I wouldn't bother trying to solo this guy, but solo is my playstyle and finding groups for quests like this is always a painful chore.

Have any warriors here soloed Araj before, and if so, what advice or tactics can you offer?

Give up and walk away. It's been a while but I'm pretty positive I couldn't solo him pre-TBC even in nearly full Naxx DPS gear; I'd imagine I could easily do it at 70, but I haven't tried.

Fair enough, and thanks for the response. However I've heard of people with toons in the high 50's soloing this guy recently. I'm pretty sure he was nerfed in the whole "make the world a little easier to kill" patch that came out a while back. (2.4?)

I've taken him down with two 60s, a hunter and priest. Approach him from behind (water fountain side). Clear the mobs around the road encircling the water fountain near him on both sides. This'll give you room to fight. When ready pull Araj backwards, to the other side of the fountain. His two skeleton warriors on either side will come with him. Have the priest shackle one skelly. Have the hunter pet taunt the other skelly and then switch to Araj. Hunter HoT on the pet plus priest assistance and burn down Araj. Freeze trap one skelly warrior as needed. Dispatch the two skellys, frozen trapped one first.

I would think a 60 warrior and 60 priest could do this fight similarly. The warrior would just have to tank Araj and maintain aggro on one skelly warrior.

I've brute forced this fight with two 70s. A straight frontal attack isn't a problem if you've got level 70 help.

Theres a dragon in disguise in the Andorhal (i believe) inn not far from where Araj is. You can get a quest from that dragon to look for some guys watch and after you finish that quest you'll get an item that will weaken Araj thus making him soloable. Sorry I can't be more specific i'm incredibly tired...

Don't try soloing him at your level. He summons other spirits too, and with their damage and his knock-backs is quite hard to kill at your level. The big danger is that he will knock you back then 'run' away when he gets low on health. He can flee into more skeletons etc, and before you know it you are surrounded by adds.

I first soloed him at 62 or 63. I died quite quickly when I tried it any time before 60.

If you're trying then my advice is to clear everything around him, behind and in front. Make sure you can pummel to interrupt his summoning of the spirits and when he gets low get the hamstring to keep him from running to the other undead. Also make sure you time it right as there is a wandering elite abomination guy, and you definitely don't want him to wander by when you are fighting Araj.

Also equip your Argent Dawn trinket before you loot him as he can drop a Corrupter's Scourgestone.

Hello!

I recently killed her as lvl 60 warrior solo. First i took time to clear the single mob south of her pack so i stood on the houseruin south of her. then i pulled her 3 spirits and killed them.(if u die during this just go back and finish). Check so not the big elite guy is near
I then charged into her fullon with retaliation and slam her + one thunderclap and then slam + exekute in the end.
Make sure u have up to date gear with lots of stamina.
There is also one quest there that gives u a trinket wich deals around 1500 dps it can only be used on araj, but u can do the quest more times than one so u can have 2 if u want

Extras that i used was
1 healing potion (the biggest u can find)
1 trinket that gives 450 damage total under 30 sec(the quest trinket i mentioned is far better)

God luck

If a lvl 70 has a tough time with Araj, then you have bigger problems. He's a piece of cake at lvl 70 (even a fresh lvl 70).

pre-60....I'd be very impressed. If you're having a hard time, just ask for help in /1. There are always others questing around that area, so it shouldn't be an issue getting help for 2 minutes.
