I need help "planning" my mage.Follow

Well, sooner then I expected I'm at level 33 and I still feel quite n00bish, right now I'm "majoring" in Frost talents, and I have only spent my points in frost (which I know is wrong) but I just have no clue what to get in the other areas, because I've never done this before x.x, I am ultimately shooting for a frost/arcane mage, I really like the part where I slow people down to the point where they can hardly do anything =P and fire doesn't hold much appeal, therefore; I might as well concentrate on Arcane as a back up. So can anyone recommend a sort of Ultimate Frost/Arcane talent tree to go by?
On a separate note, this is my battle plan: Frostbolt from far away -> spam frostbolt until they get up to me -> fireblast -> frostbolt + fireblast until dead.

Normally it works, if the enemy runs away I use arcane missles to kill them, and occasionally if they have like a sliver of health left I finish them off with arcane blast. I also use Frost nova + icy viens if I'm in trouble.

Sorry I couldn't get a pic..I tried to screenshot but it just resulted in my UI disappearing -_- I do have a nice shot of my mage looking out to sea though...lol.

It's called a sticky for a reason:

If we all assumed the sticky was the end-all then we wouldn't have any topics in here would we?

EDIT: That being said, I am finding this sticky quite intriguing =)

I don't normally like the gruff "read the sticky" replies but this one seemed on-point, since it explains how to merge things like frost and arcane (check out the 40/0/21 build there) in a level of detail that I, and most mages, can't approach in an off-the-cuff post. I play fire but I also know, as mentioned in said sticky, that 17/0/44 is THE PvP build (with 17 pts in arcane for imp cs).

Edit: I also see you said you've only spent your points in frost "which I know is wrong." Actually, that is exactly how you should spend points while leveling. Max out one tree to get all the benefits from it, then switch to your secondary. Those low-tiered arcane talents are generally lousy.

Oh =O Well I didn't know that, I thought it was expected to know how to combo talents from different trees. I'm glad I'm doing it correctly then.

More you read from ALL the topics here the more you learn those important little things. First of all your rotation could be improved a bit. There are more than one way but I would love to see your talent tree. Start with frostbolt -> fireball/frostbolt (I always used only frost) -> fireblast -> Frostnova -> move some distance and frostbolt + immediately icelance.

Something like that and I hope I dont make big mistakes cos itäs long time since I leveled a mage. So cant remember when u get icelance etc.

When I respecced my mage during leveling (from frost to another frost) I really enjoyed that I picked Frostbite talent. I loved that Fb+icelance combo when root proc. Also it buys u nice time to move when it happens.

Also when leveling mage you should use wand on mobs low on health. It saves good amount of mana and keeps ur wand skill close to you.
