Planning to roll a new mage. I will probably try to get the best gear for either lvl 19 or 29 and stay there till I max my BG marks.
I've read most of the Mage forums and there's widespread opinions on what's the "Best Spec".
any input from you Mages out there appreciated.

I am sure I will catch some flak on this one, but personally I found at lvl 19 my mage sucked at PVP. Other then the occasional sheep or ice snare i found myself doing very little. By the time you get a spell off your being murdered by a twink hunter or rogue. Once I hit lvl 29 I started doing alot better.
I have just personally found that casters are not the greatest at low levels.
Far as which spec is best for PVP I honestly can't really tell you. I went with Frost and I can tell you being able to snare the enemy with your AE blizzard spell is helpful. I am not real sure what other talent trees offer since I am not looking at it. If you don't plan to go past 19 or 29 though your going to be fairly limited no matter which route you go. My Mage is lvl 31 right now so I am by far no expert at the ins and outs of a mage.

[] Text[/]Personally I am a level 70 Fire Mage. I also have a level 37 Ice Mage. While I do BG with my 70, it always helps to have some cover. As it takes so long to get the spells up. You do great DPS, but that makes you the target for everyone, especially rogues, warriors and hunters. Sheep the pet go for the hunter. :-) I have tried Arcane, to me it uses your mana faster than the other too. So my 70 is a mix of Fire and Arcane, ALWAYS have potions on hand. I am a potion master, so can make the ones that I need. Cheaper that way for sure. I have re-rolled my 70 mage several times and always come back to fire/arcane. That is the best mix for me. I like the DPS, I LOVE Dragon's Breath! But the best advice I can give you is to try one spec, if you don't like it...then re-roll. We have all re-rolled more than once in most of toons.
Mages don't make good 19 twinks.
