I was questing on quel'danas earlier today, when another mage ambushed me. Well, he was s3, and had the advantages on his side, so I popped my ele, he didn't and thus I was really close to beating him. We were both oom (almost) so I'm wanding him, and he has enough mana for another FB. I was like: yay, cya in hell loser, Spammed CS... nothing happened... After I ressed I was so surprised that I double-chcked it, since the times CS had a GCD are long since gone. And really, there was no GCD. At least until I got out my wand.

Wanding triggers GCD on CS O.o Is that how its supposed to be? I don't think so.

Wanding triggers the GCD... this is how I've always seen it.

I thought CS was outside the GCD? I have had some odd CS experiences lately when I CS'd while the opponent's casting bar was far from finished and it didnt silence him/her but I've chalked that up to latency and me cutting it too close.

Been happening to me in arena's. I just figured i hit the wrong macro at some point and it was on cooldown. I usually blame myself. If there is a problem be nice to have it fixed. Till then im claiming with user error.

did you have the 100 mana for it when you hit it, if you were under the mana cost for frostbolt you may have been under mana cost for cs.

Yeah, awsome, TY sherlock, but CS isn't bound to GCD, for reasons of fairness and utility in PvP.

And just as I've said it: I double-checked it. just use ur wand on any npc and spam CS after, I'll say "the Spell isn't ready yet" and you can actually see the CD triggered on the CS spell.

Thats not right.

Wanding doesn't just trigger to GCD. Unless I'm mistaken, it puts everything else on a cooldown equal to the speed of the wand. Meaning that, strictly speaking, there is no GCD in effect there, and so you can't cast CS.

I do believe that's probably a bug, though, as I don't believe wanting puts things like potions under cooldown as well. If it does, then working as intended. If you can pot right after wanding, then it's bugged.

You can not pot straight after.

I believe that what you said is correct, although my wand's speed is the same speed of the standard GCD so it seems to be about the same.
