Doomguard and Infernal StatsFollow

#1 Jun 26 2008 at 6:19 AM Rating: Decent
Hey, folks,

I can't seem to find stats for Doomguard and Infernal at 70 (or at ANY level, for that matter). Does anybody know of a resource where I can find them (I don't have a 50+ warlock myself to test them on)? And if there is no resource, would somebody summon them and post screencaptures (preferably with screencaptures of the character as well, so we can work back from the character stats to the pet's "unbuffed" stats)?

I'm also curious- has anyone tested whether the Curse of Doom doomguards are, for sure, weaker than the Ritual of Doom doomguards? A screencapture would be really useful for this, too.

Thanks,

no offence but just forget about them. they're purely party tricks.. completely useless otherwise. also there's no reason for the CoD ones to be weaker than the RoD ones. they both have around 7k health i think... and the doomguard has like 2k mana or something stupidly small (uses like 90% for the rain of fire ability). so umm.. yeah. forget about them. they're not used for anything than to laugh at

That may be the conclusion I come to, also; but, meaning no disrespect, I won't take your word for it.

If I know all their weaknesses, I can work on mitigating them (I've figured out a way around some of the most obnoxious, I think). But I'd really like to know all their stats (like, a screencapture from their "character" screen) to make sure I've got all my bases covered.

Will anyone point me in the right direction?

No matter their stats, they are still not worth it. Simply due to the fact that you have to re-enslave them, while they are hitting you. If this happens mid-fight, PvE or PvP, your pretty much dead as you have whatever your fighting, plus it, hitting you, while trying to enslave.

Let's just put it this way, if they were powerful enough to consider using, then they would be able to kill you before you could re-enslave them. You really can't control how long enslave lasts either. It "should" last 5 minutes, but I've seen it break 30 seconds after an enslave too. No matter what, these pets are not worth it.

k, their downfalls...
well, the MAIN BIG SUPER MASSIVE IMBA ZOMG WTF WHY DO WE EVEN HAVE ENSLAVE downfall is...

first enslave lasts MAXIMUM 5minutes (and chances are, it'll come out early). 2nd is unlikely to even last 2mins, after that you're unlikely to hold them for more than 30seconds.

now for the inferno.
1. it's damage aura can't be turned off, so making him un-usable in tight areas with CC
2. he's on a 1 hour cd, of which you get 5 actually usable minutes tops

doomguard.
1. his mana-pool is so small that he'll run out instantly and then do crap all damage afterwards
2. he's on a 1hour cd, of which you get 5 actually usuable minutes tops

there is NO way of getting around these issues. they are completely useless.

Not *entirely* useless. They don't break Demonic Sac buff, so our locks use them every once in a while on our doomed Brut attempts for a little bit of extra damage. It's extra damage, and it at least gives us something to laugh at while we wipe for 4 hours straight >.>

Pretty much this. Enslave Demon is (other than Freezing Trap) the only ability in the game (to my knowledge) to have PvE diminishing returns. The fact that Inferno is only castable outdoors really doesn't help.

PvP uses for the Infernal: AB, AV. The stun effect is, occasionally, helpful, but mostly only at a heavy turtle (near Frostwolf/Stonehearth Graveyards). And, at least on my battlegroup, as a warlock, you're sought out to be one of the first killed anyway, especially when the opposing team is melee-heavy. (stunlock ftl)

PvE uses for the Infernal: Black Morass, Old Hillsbrad. Again with the AoE stun. Mainly only useable on the bosses, but also very risky because of the chance of the Enslave breaking early being pretty freaking high.

PvP uses for the Doomguard: AV. Making stupid people potentially die by clicking on the ritual.

PvE uses for the Doomguard: See: PvP uses for the Doomguard. Cripple, however, is useable on raid bosses.

Also, neither the Doomguard nor the Infernal stand up to heavy damage incredibly well. Also, because of the lack of pet scaling (stamina, resilience, armor, resistances), their comparatively low hp doesn't make them a wise choice in any situation, regardless of Enslave.
