Hints and Tips for SSCFollow

My guild is about to start trying to run SSC so I am doing my homework on Bosskillers etc, I was just wondering if any of you have any Hunter specific tips for the bosses in there?
The guides are pretty generalised when it comes to "ranged " classes and not very specific on the use of pets and possible pit falls when using my pet.

Also I have checked the items in there and compared them on cheekys, would i be right in saying there are no real upgrades for me in SSC?
Thank you for any information you can provide, and sorry if ive missed a sticky with this info in it.

Hydross: Keep it on hydross, pull it back a few seconds before a phase switch and send it back in after the tank has it while you help with adds.

Lurker: place your pet on stay on the main island in front of the small island where you'll be standing.
If you can hit it with Mend Pet, there is no reason why it should die.

Leotheras: Ok, now this is an annoying fight, you'll basically have to pull back your pet whenever the melee has to run.
And that's often, very often.

For the demons, I dont bother with sending my pet at them, they're a joke to kite and kill and my pet stays on Leo.

Karathress: nothing special here, just send it in on whatever you are killing, might need a few mend pets but I cant recall my pet dying here.

Morogrim: nothing special here either just fire and forget, though you might have to resummon your pet after you've been graved depending on where you tank him.

Vashj: Send it after whatever you're trying to kill. It'll probably require a bunch of healing but hopefully you'll have 2pc T5 by then to help you.

As for loot, Leo's trinket for 1 is something you'll want.
The chest from Hydross is also better, and you'll want either T5 legs or gloves as well as shoulders from VR to get that 2pc.

Aside from that, try to get the Vengeful Helm and the S3 axe, It's only 2200 arena points so 6-7 weeks should do it :)

Yep. Exactly what Aethien said.

But to add to the leotheras fight: I set down a trap at my feet at the beginning of the demon phase, so it's just that much easier to A: Tell that I have a demon, and B: Get plenty of range.

You may want to have your pet help you with your inner demon depending on what kind of DPS you're doing. You have to be able to do at least 11k Damage in 30 seconds while kiting if you don't use your pet. Oh, and don't worry about the warnings about your pet getting the killing blow. I've used my pet plenty of times, but I have never been mind controlled from my pet making a killing blow.

Hydross: one hunter needs to be in tank group for aspect of the wild. You can switch to hawk on the frost phase but I don’t as I’d forgetting to change back could wipe the raid

Lurker: If you’re on the main island find a space where you can get in and out of the water quickly while avoiding spout. My dps was terrible first time I did this fight as it took ages to get out the water where I was stood.

Karathress: If you’re doing the md for the first kill target save one charge for when the pet spawns, just to make the tanks life a bit easier.

Morogrim: scorpid sting seems to be more important for this one. Also an explosive trap to help with the aoe once they pally tank has control works well.

Vashj: We’ve only killed her once, but we just ignored the sporebats in the end. Was wasting too much dps trying to keep them in range to kill them.
