I have read that it is best for a DW fury warrior to chant the off hand with mongoose... I have done this... and i don't seem to get the goose to proc very often... I have the s1 quick blade atm... 1.8 I think..... As I stated I have read that it is best to chant with the goose... but i have not read why? I'm not a mathman so figuring out the dps is beyond my abilities.... so my question is how much more DPS do I actually get with the goose as compared to +20 strength on off hand? Thank you in advance for you educated responses!
The difference is pretty minimal between the two, especially at lower gear levels (STR becomes slightly less valueable as you get more of it, and the Crit becomes slightly more so and the Haste becomes much more so).
If you're using S1 (...although you probably should have waited until like yesterday, to get S2) just put +20 STR on it.

thx for the reply.... i've been 70 fror a while now and got the S1 when i dinged... just havn't found any better drops yet.. i use vindicators brand in the MH atm... i'm back in BG's now fishing for that S2 lol... think i'm going to spend 45 badges on one of the daggers tho... for my OH... right now unbuffed i have 1744 AP so i am trying to concentrate on Crit at 24%... again thx for the reply... hope to hear more...
Never use a dagger. It used to not matter until WW was patched to hit with both weapons. Now that it does you want...well anything but a dagger since daggers are normalized at a much slower speed than sword/axe/mace/fist.
I recall seeing something similar to what RP is saying. Goose is better from a DPS perspective than Potency, but the advantage isnt huge... and theoretically, if youre not on top of its procs you may not get as much out of it as possible... so it may or may not reliably out-perform the Str enchant depending on play style.
It (Goose) is supposedly on a normalized 1PPM rate... so you could go 5 minutes without having it fire off, and then have it hit 5x in the next 20 seconds. That, plus the fact that its on your OH, which likely means it will miss a fair percentage of white swings, make it kindof a choppy and unreliable source of sustained (passive) damage.
When it does proc, however, it gives you a pretty sizable chunk of crit (unbuffed... ~3.6%). If you can squeeze as many specials in during that 15 seconds... especially anything that hits multiple targets... the potential extra damage from WW Crits+Deep Wounds+Flurry is kindof exciting to think about.
(Caveat: I'm in Kara/Heroic gear. The class seems almost unrecognizable at different gear threshholds when various stats become afterthoughts because you have as much as you need, so none of this is universally applicable).
