Is my armor any good?Follow

#1 Jun 25 2008 at 7:08 AM Rating: Decent
I just dinged 22 yesterday, and I've had some of my armor since I was about level 11. Could someone just tell me what armors I should improve if Im a ret. pally? Here's my armory page:

http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Draka&n=Renil

And If I do need better armor, tell me which ones, and where I can find better types of that armor. Thank you!

Most of your gear is low for your lvl. (You have 1 piece that’s lvl 6)

You need to replace the grey shoulder piece.

Don’t bother enchanting gear at your lvl unless you’re rich. You should be getting replacement gear every 5lvls or so – due to Questing.

Just keep playing. Do quests that are appropriate for your level and you will get nice quest rewards you can wear (you currently only have two quest rewards among your armor pieces). You also appear to be in the right level range for Wailing Caverns in the Barrens; find some friends (or make some new ones) and run that instance if you can. You do NOT need to buy new armor from the Auction House or pay people to craft armor for you. You do not need to buy enchants either. Just go out into the world and your gear situation should improve almost effortlessly.

I'm sure you can tell by looking that your shoulders (grey) and your rings are your weakest pieces right now. If you absolutely have to spend some of the gold that's burning a hole in your pocket, I'd look at upgrading those first.

I wouldn't worry too much about your armor at your level. For Ret, just keep stacking Strength when you can and you should be fine. You'll get gear through your quest rewards, BS if you have it and are keeping it up, and if you happen to have a little extra cash you can upgrade your gear in the AH.

Just make sure you have enough money near 40 to upgrade to plate and you should be fine starting out there. You can even buy that gear early if you have the money just so that as soon as you hit 40 you throw it all on at once.

New patch update is going to place the quest at or around lvl 30.

So you might get your mount a bit fast. (As my Alt Paly is lvl 44 right now, I'm a little bothered by the fact that I paid full price when the rest of the world is getting it 10 lvls earlier and very much cheaper.

Why did you pay for your mount at 40? You can get the mount spell and skill for free through the Paladin trainer (well... close enough to free, it's just like buying any other skill from the trainer).

I did buy it at the trainer.

I should have emphasized that I was more bothered by the level difference. I don’t know for sure, but the cost is dropping to 35G for a normal (Non-paly or Lock mount). I just assume the cost of our spell is dropping by the same percentage. By full price I meant both time and money – should have specified more clearly.
