Ok so I need to make my SR stuff for Mother, problem is Im not sure exactly what pieces I should make in order to get to a healthy amount of SR and save hearts. I know I should have the cloak/neck, but then what combo of chest/legs/bracers etc should I make since there are also greens that give nice SR too. There are people saying dont make boots and then people saying dont make chest etc etc. Just curious as to what you other hunters did to prepare for Mother when making your SR.

Your Mom plays WoW? ;)

Uh, just buy the shadow resist pots? Sorry, I'm not to that boss yet.

Mother Shahraz or however you write that.
And you need the full 365 shadow resist (buffed) for that fight.

What i'm planning on is:
neck 40
cloak 55 (with 15 agi ench)
wrist 40
feet 54
waist 54
head 20 (S2 head + glyph)
Buff 70
flask 35 (chromatic wonder)
total 368

In my opinion, this is both the least mats (or should i say HoD) intensive as well as best for your personal stats and survivability.

If your guild still does TK/SSC occasionally you should definately do the quests.
If not, try getting a PuG (started by far advanced raiders to gear up their alts, I'm sure there will be 1 on your server.) or see if you can tag along with a less progressed guild to get your quest done.

With the high stamina and Sresist you really want it :)

That fight is so easy its ridiculous. We downed her on our first attempt..ever. We even had a couple folks die early on and we saved the battle rez's because none of us thought it was going to be that ez. Once you get the SR gear, its ez T6.

I dont have the neck, so I was using the bracers, boots, legs and cloak with a green helm with the SR glyph from lower city. If your close there is the +7 resist to all for shoulders that you can get from the Kara quartermaster.

Get whatever you need (be it greens or craftables) to get max SR. Then just wear your best in slot items where you can. Might be hard to remain hit capped, so bring some spicy talbuk.

My guild made all the epic SR except the leggs which can be easily replaced with 2 greens.

We one shot her our first attempt, shes a pushover aslong as everyone has the SR.

Actually no you don't. My guild has gone through Mother quite a few times now, and we opted to leave out the Legs for all of the classes. You need your BT SR Gear made from a Leatherworker who has the patterns for just the generic pieces aside from the legs, and you need your BT Necklace that hopefully you got while doing your attunement quest.

If you don't have the necklace there's a JC equivalent and you can make up the difference in SR with a few extra SR rings if need be. For the fight itself everyone should have around 300-320 total resist (after buffs). There's no reason to have more then that as it will gimp your stats to much.

Also you'll want a Mod called "Easy Mother". Yes it sounds like some cheap porno, but it's definately the best mod to help you fight her. EVERYONE in your raid/guild should have it if you plan on attempting her.

Typically my guild goes with the 4 group setup.

1st Group: Main tanks, 3 total tanks stand in front of Mother, 2 with SR gear, and your main tank with a lot of avoidance gear (he shouldn't be wearing SR at all). The 2 tanks take the damage from her Sabre Lash (I think that's what it's called), and need to be stacked on top of the main tank for the most part to take the damage. If they don't, your tank will pretty much die in a matter of seconds.

2nd Group: Melee DPS, stands directly behind Mother and NEVER goes in front of her.

3rd Group: Ranged/Caster/Healers. They will stand about 10-20 feet behind Group 1 and stay stacked up on each other. No one should be spread out for this fight.

4th Group: Pulling Group/2 Healers. This group is the pulling group, which will typically consist of a Hunter (myself most of the time), and 2 healers, a priest and a shaman is what we use. The reason for this group is to not only pull mother, but also to leave a smaller amount of healers in the back for anyone who gets teleported close to them. With most of the healers behind Group 1 it becomes difficult to heal the people running off in a separate direction.

So to put this into Perspective:

3---1-M-2---4

M = Mother obviously. And this is how our typical raid groups look like. Again your raids may vary, but we've had no problem with Mother. The real test of strength will come when you fight the Council, that's a whole different story ;) And then of course Illidan, but we just kicked his *** on last Thursday and I got my new bow =D
