I am new to WoW and to being a Warrior. There is so much info here and my learning curve is so steep that I am now confused. I only PvE and solo all the time. Just made level 29 and use a 2H axe or sword since I can't afford decent 1 h swords to DW. My questions are:

1. Shoot for 2H or DW build ( I assume I will be able to get good 1H swords some day )? Slam seems great, but for a new guy I would rather not go there.

2. Given an answer to the above what is a good Talent tree to shoot for?

3. Does weapon speed matter in selecting between weapons or can I just look at the dps number and pick the higher one?

4. If I end up going 2H does it matter if I have a sword or an axe? I am a Night Elf so I get no special benefit from either.

Thanks a lot for your help.

1. Go for a DW build and make use of your professions for money-making

2. Look in other posts, most notably the build thread and you will find level-by-level builds. I think the main consensus is fury for soloing and obviously prot later.

3. Look at the enchants since im sure you have greens/blues and should only use better from now on. With two 1H there will be a difference that a more veteran warrior could probably tell you but I think slowest weapon goes off-hand?

4. Whatever is better in terms of stats still

Once again I am also kinda new but this is what i have pretty much heard and experienced, with some common sense.

1. Your choice, but DW has been repeatedly proven to give better DPS when soloing. I use a 2H for PVP however. I don't know why, but it seems to work better for me.
2. I leveled as fury to 60, then switched to prot. There is an argument there that fury kills quicker but has downtime because you get beaten up during the fight, whereas Protection takes forever to kill mobs, but can handle more at once and has less downtime.
3. While leveling: it's purely DPS, then stats.
4. It doesn't matter but you may want to look at training your weapon skill as sometimes the axe will beat the sword and sometimes the opposite will be true. What you want to use is the best DPS weapon while leveling - even if it's a staff (it's never a staff).

For DW, I generally put my new (usually better) weapon into my offhand until my skill with it approaches the max within about 10 points.

Edit: grammar
