I am really really shocked at the number of paladins who do not have enough pride in their class to complete their level 60 quests and get their Epic Charger. Its becoming more and more common to see a paladin forego their Blood Knight status and be seen in the World....of Warcraft, riding their (gasp) Hawkstrider. Kinda makes me sick.

You're a PALADIN for pete's sake. Have a little respect. For those of you who say its too hard, or too time consuming or too expensive, I say ... roll another class. You dont deserve the Light.

I did the quest, and used my Charger about 20% of the time that I used a land mount and my Epic Riding Chicken the other 80%. I prefer the chicken. Now with a White Epic Riding Chicken, Bear, and Fiery War Horse to throw in the mix I ususually find myself riding the White Hawkstrider and never touching the Charger.

Now that the Blood Knights have the blessing of the Naruu and are defenders of the light (like their ally counterparts) rather than controllers of the light, where's the fun?

i say its not worth the time/money. ill put up the 6 hundred whatever gold for the regular epic, go just as fast, and use the time saved to do dalies and actually net a profit.

The problem as I see it is not one of Paldins being lazy but rather that
doing the quests now is real pain, due to the fact that most people in the
58 to 62 range are enjoying the superior gear that can be obtained from Outlands questing,
which for the most part can be done solo or 3 manned. So unless you stumble across a guild who
runs the old instances for nostaglias sake, then most people will wait until they are level 70,
bored, and usually slightly intoxicated then go, hey lets go run strath...hic.homes for kicks.
I have seen Warlocks on my server offering 50g a person to do the runs required for their mount.

I got mine because I really wanted it, but I don't use it in PvP. Saving every bit of mana possible

I took the time to get my charger and never use it. I prefer my wolf mount much better.

Got mine, use it, saved gold on buying skill since i'm herb and alch, half the mats for the lines come from that, the rest from guild and friends. Only spent the 300g or whatever on the required gold donation quests. My guild was glad to help, and I "wasted" all of an hour doing DM one day and Strat the next.

Belf pallies have no excuse, the quest is way harder for alliance, especially after TBC

Well the good news is Arcane Crystals cost nothing these days. Back when Arcanite was 30g a bar (damn Tier 0.5) gathering those mats was a real pain in the ***.

I personally do use my Charger, having never seen a need to replace it with anything. I have the Dreadsteed on my Warlock, and I would be using that if I didnt have the Swift Zulian Tiger >:)

Charger doesn't take up bag space, don't forget that :p

This is all.

I got both chargers, got the alliance one pre-tbc, and I got my horde one too. I carry a specific pride when riding on it, but I get wrapped up in the lore of the game. I don't shun those that don't do it though.

I had the money and mats for the mount quest at lvl 53, when I started fresh on my server. When I dinged 60 I had the epic mount about 2 bars later. Now it gets no use, I have my bear mount and my AV ram.

I have to say I agree with this. Yes it's kinda cool that the Blood Elf race has been redeemed, but I've never liked the "do-gooder" nature of Paladins. WoW was the first time I could be an evil Pally, now they've kinda taken that away.

I love my charger, good to have a mount that only a select group of players can get. That being said, purely aesthetically (spelling?) speaking: I love the epic nightsabers best, but alas, I am Horde... /smile

Horde ... aren't ... evil ...

And, that's basically what a Paladin is, a do-gooder in essence. BE Paladins were (are) power hungry and greedy, not evil though. You want to be an evil Paladin? D&D has a good class for that: Blackguard :D

They sure aren't! I never said anything about the Horde as a whole. Orcs are the most noble race in the whole game IMO, and the Tauren are as far from evil as you can get. My point specifically was about Blood Elf Paladins. Arrogant, magic addicted elves who basically got their abilities through an extreme act of blasphemy. Even the other Blood Elves were divided over them. I think they've done away with some of the flavour text in Silvermoon, but the Farstriders used to hate them.

Maybe not evil in a pure sense, but certainly selfish, bitter and uncaring of others. Not typical Paladin traits.

Well you know the near-genocide of your people and racist attitudes from the humans will do that to you. As well as the fact that until Kael gave them the Naaru, they were slowly dieing by being cut off from any magical source. Elves are greedy for magic like Humans are greedy for water, they need it to live, and desperate times call for desperate measures. Muru even gave himself over willingly so that they could do this.
