So, I just felt the urge to gloat and let the world know. After my long and loved run as boomkin I finally gave in and spec'd resto to fill in a healer spot for my Kara group. Well last night I didn't get back from work fast enough to make the guild run to Gruul's so I sat over vent with them and listened to see how it was going. This being the second time our guild has ever been to Gruul's, the first resulting in no downing of Gruuls. But the second! The only druid healer had to leave so they asked me if I would like to fill in at all for that spot, seeing as they'd wiped twice before. So I willing say "Sure, why not." As I log onto my druid I hear our tank say "Well, Arex you're main healing our MT and OT." I felt a little apprehensive as this was my first time witnessing Gruul but the other main healer assured me we'd do fine.

Well 13 growth's later I and a holy priest main healed together, throughout silence and shatter, two tanks. I felt an amazing sense of relief as I just realized what I did and to boot. I got a sweet new healing helm out of the deal.

I'm sorry I gloated but god damn it felt good to know the druid tipped the scales.

PS: How many of you are the "token" druid?

Congratulations, that's awesome. To me there's nothing as cool as filling in on something that might be over your head when your guild is in a pinch. It's a win/win/win as you get A) the good karma of being helpful, B) the low expectations of "I dunno but I'll do my best..." and C) the potential upside of actually succeeding!!! Glad to hear you got all three...gloat on!

Re: your P.S. I am my guild's token "real druid" but there's a handful of druid alts in their 60s and even a fresh 70 now. I love the fact that thanks to this forum I have so much druidic knowledge I can use to help the top players in my guild as they level their druids.
