Theo restrains his restraint to the rogue forum.

So, apparently, just because I feel they nerfed flares too far I'm an idiot that can't PvP and I suck?

Yeah, that's pretty much correct.

Being able to lay two flares at once is completely overpowered.

He never claimed that it wasn't though. He just claimed they went to far. That infers that he thought that the nerf was deserved. I haven't every caught a rogue in my flare, so they are pretty useless.

Wait, I'm apparently confused.

Him saying "they went too far with the flare nerf" is him saying that the nerf was deserved?

Smiley: dubious

If you haven't ever caught a rogue in a flare you either don't know how to lay flares or the rogues you play against are all so much more pro than me that they should all be rocking 2200+ ratings.

You're smarter then that theo, don't pretend to be an idiot.

As to the flare, fair enough, I do occasionally catch rogues, but not very often. I haven't really thought about flare much. I use it as much as I can of course, it's biggest use is after a vanish, which is probably as it should be. I don't really think hunters should be a rogue anti class, as we tear up casters easily enough. I think a rogue/hunter fight is pretty fun really.

Try running against a wall then put your pet in front of u on aggressive, then cast flare, and a trap if you wait it out the rogue will trip over somthing. rogues are easy if your know how to deal with them.

hope it helps.:)

Just the opinion of a sucky PvP'er and idiot here but:

Where "Blizz" went too far-
• Flare is too short ranged, I can spit further.
• Flare is too short in duration, you have to toss them like candy and they take too long to do that with the AOE circle target effect.

What flare needs to be-
• Like trap, one out at a time, cast new one, old goes away. 30 sec CD okay maybe modded by SV talents that mod trap CD.
• Should be able to shoot one with weapon: bow or gun. That means range is the same as a normal shot or something like Arcane.
• Okay to take up a weapon 'shot' and trigger GCD. That way it is treated like a special shot.

Sorry, I realize that's a tad simplistic but I like simple solutions where they are merited, so maybe the idiot moniker is earned.

I like frost trap/wing clip combo better than freeze trap for rogues.

And Theo, is there a forum you aren't in anymore...LOL.. Do you have a hunter as well?

My first 70 was a hunter.

My first 60 was my rogue, then I leveled a hunter to 60 while I was raiding, then I leveled a shadow priest to 60.

Then I leveled my hunter to 70, priest to 70, then rogue to 70 after TBC came out.

So yeah, I have a hunter, and I know what I'm talking about. Smiley: tongue

Oh, I also have a 70 shaman that I just finished leveling a month or two ago as well, but I never really play him.

And the you go back to it being too good. Range does not need to be 35 yards. The distance you can throw a flare is fine, and there's no reason to send one farther. Just learn to not suck with flare.

Arguing with Theo is like getting into a verbal scuffle with a ******.

Sure it's easy to come out on top since all your higher brain functions work properly, but he'll still angrily glare and call himself the victor because he likes pudding.

I could've used a longer ranged flare the other night in Kara... I couldn't throw it outside of aggro range on me (we tested it twice)... that's too short.

Longer range actually benefits stealthed targets. It increases the error margin and flight time of the flare. It's easier to get inside of it and avoid it. It also takes longer for the hunter to aim.

We could debate the actual range but in the end, it is currently too short. I'd be happy somewhere in the middle, just longer than it is.

Simply put the power of the flare is only in it's effect radius, outside of that it's a pretty light show, even that is weak right now (probably intentionally so). Hunters need all the 'group benefits' they can get at the moment or we end up being only a solo class. If a group calls for a Hunter because they have a decent flare, then the better for us. Sorry if that hurts stealthy classes but Hunters aren't fondly seen as a group class at the moment. The only place we tend to get the group love is BG's.

I'm sorry that you can't comprehend what I'm talking about; plenty of other posters can and have received plenty of benefit from my posts.

That you think that arguing with me (when I'm nearly always right) is like arguing with a ****** just makes me think that you're arguing that the sky is orange and the ****** is yelling in your ear, "THE SKY IS BLUE!! I KNOW I'M A ******* ****** BUT IT'S ******* BLUE!"

Have a nice day, moron. Have fun with that orange sky.
