I don't think you can reset a quest once you have finished and turned it in.
the best thing you can do is talk to a GM and they'll be able to get it back for you :)

I think I've read somewhere that you can go back and the last quest in the chain is repeatable (so kill the fire elemental or whatever it is and get the mats for the guy again, reward is the fire totem)
Just something to try while you're waiting for a GM response

How? You can't destroy it or sell it or trade it to another player? Its stuck in your pack.

You should just be able to go back to your class trainer for a new totem if you destroyed it. Either that or I would go back to the quest giver. I am sure blizzard considered the possibility that a shaman might accidentally destroy a totem. Besides, isn't the fire totem a level 10 quest? re-roll a new shaman if you have to.

How do you destroy a totem? Don't you need to type DELETE and then confirm before you can destroy something like that?

As for your question: I have no idea how to get another one but try the suggestion given by others.

It's impossible to destroy the totem. When you try, you get a "this item cannot be destroyed" warning.

Then again, I've had weird things happen with characters that have been inactive forever. My druid isn't able to re-pick-up the sealform quest, and if I ever actually decide to play him again I'll need to ask a GM about it.
