I cant decide which is better a pally or a shaman? i want to do dammage and have fun leveling the character. also i need help with shaman talents, wep, race, and overall goal in a instance or group. plz help me

umm. alright let's see. i play a 70 enhancement shaman.
and honestly. shamans are very easy and fast to level. you get ghost wolf at lvl 20 i believe. and as an enhancement spec. there's a very little downtime (time between mobs/quests) since shamans still put out a very good dps without mana. then once you get windfury... you'll do amazing amount of dps.
Also. as an enhancement shaman leveling. you can dps/heal or even tank if needed. (since our threat is high with frost shock and even just our melee attacks)
as a 70 enhancement or elemental shaman. you will do a good amount of damage. In normal 5 man instances, i'm usually #1 damage done (as enhance) and in raids, i am usually in the top 3-5, sometimes even #1 :)
Elemental also puts out a very good amount of damage.. and in arena, they are one of the favored few.
I personally never leveled a pally, but i know that they are not as fast leveling (many say it is one of the most boring/slow class) but once you hit 70, it's very fun as ret, favored pve&pvp for holy. and tankadins are one of my favorite tanks of all time (basically impossible to pull from)
however. ret pallys are rarely used in raids (for when they run out of mana, they become useless) so if you want to be a damage class (pve wise) go shaman.
if you like healing, paladins and shamans are both very good choices..
and tanking..... though i tank with my shaman once in a while :) go paladin.
basically. it's your preference. hope this helped.

I've played both a Pally and a Shaman, and I think you need to come up with a better idea of what it is you want to do. Doing damage and having fun aren't really much to go on.
It's not like either class is the "do-no-damage-and-be-miserable class"
I'm assuming you're looking to do dps, and not be a tank or healer.
When it comes to just dealing dps, I find Shammy more fun to do it with. Paladin is fun as a tank, imo, but doesn't compare to the fun of the Shaman.
I love Dual Wielding and shocks. Others prefer being a plate-wearing juggernaut throwing Seals and judgements.
They're both hybrids and have their pros and cons, and can fill much of the same roles while leveling. If you have a good idea of what you want to be doing at level 70 then there will be bigger differences.
If you're not sure the best thing to do is to try leveling one of each, by level 30 you can probably tell which one you have more fun with. And whichever one you have more fun with is likely the one you'll be better at.

I've raided through ssc & tk as a holy pally then swapped to an enhancement shammy to continue through bt. I played protection and ret through kara on the pally. Personally, I prefer the enh shammy 10x over any pally spec, and their really is no comparison on dps either, the shammy smokes the pally. Now this is pve based, pvp is an whole different story where ret comes into play and shammy's take a back seat big time. I've also got a priest and druid, I leveled the enhancement shammy faster than any and enjoyed it more. Shammy's also make great healers, actually better than pally's end game. My 2cents

ty for the help. i have a ret pally and for some reason it was way to boring to play on. i got it to lvl 30 and wanna make a change, but wat i really need now is info for each talents for a shammy and wat each talent is good for. for example holy pallies are good at healing and etc. ty u so much for helpin me out
