enh shaman that heals Follow

basically.. at lower levels... any class that can heal (potentially) can actually heal without much problem.
but don't try that once you hit 60+.

I agree, any class any spec can heal instances prior to 60. Just bring lots of mana pots as your mana pool will run out quickly.

NOW, I only say this if you have the mentality that you can heal. If you in your own mind say, I have a heal button but Im incompetant on using it, then by all means, walk away from that heal button.

Be honest and fair with your group.

My 70 resto shaman I leveled resto from 10. And It was a good experience healing to 70. I started grinding my new priest to 70 and she is shadow. She has main healed everything up to shadow labs with a full shadow spec and decent gear. I think I can pull it off because I am a skilled healer and I know what Im doing and how to conserve mana.

I think people need to realize that the heal button on any toon is not the same.
You dont find people like me everyday. And usually when you ask a shaman/priest/pally/druid other than resto spec to heal that it really infuriates them.
OH NOOO! MY DPS IS SUFFERING! For the love of god. I just wanna smack people sometimes.

Personally I get a huge kick out of healing, when people get fussy or rude, WHOOPS I just couldnt get the heal off! Hehe, I mean, I didnt click heal on you and let you die on purpose jerk.

I have to disagree a bit. I am a lvl 70 enhance specced shaman and I will be the main healer for the small guild I'm in when our main healer isn't on. I carry a set of healing gear that ends up giving me near +1000 healing with a few potions thrown on. I'm not saying that I will stand any chance at healing in a heroic or kara and beyond, but I've healed most of the 5 mans in the outlands.
I will definitely say that I am not a superb healer and I would much rather put out the dps. Sure, I don't have earth shield to throw on the tank, however, with some planning, spending points in the healing tree, and aquiring the proper gear, enhancement shamans can heal just fine if need be. I would hazard a guess that it would be even easier for an elemental shaman to act as a healer. Yes, I may not be the best healer out there or even do as well as the priest in our group, especially since I don't get very many crit heals, but I think non-resto specced shamans can heal fairly well. I certainly would not try being a main healer for an instance if I wasn't prepared.

Kellindross is correct. You can heal ANY instance specced anything other than resto if you even have a few healing gear. I did this all the way to 70 specced as enhanced (then elemental 60-70), and found no problem whatsoever healing.

Being specced into Resto, just makes it a bit easier (Mana Tide - Earth Shield, etc)
