Conjecture: WotLK = Druids CCing more?Follow

I was looking over some of the stuff planned for WotLK on WoW's official site. On there, they mentioned the blue dragonflight

Quote:
The immediate dangers of the Dragonblight are posed not only by the Lich King, however, but also by the blue dragonflight. Determined to manipulate all existing magic to serve his own purposes, the blue Dragon Aspect, Malygos, has ordered his flight to maneuver colossal machines into key positions over magical ley line clusters. Many believe that these dire constructs are intended to realign the paths of magical energy that course beneath the earth. If successful, Malygos's tampering could result in an ecological and magical catastrophe that would threaten not only the stability of Northrend, but ultimately the equilibrium of the entire world.

This got me to thinking that maybe there will be an instance or two with dragonkin making up most of the mobs within. If so, then perhaps moonkins and cats would be more wanted in groups to cc (hibernate) them.

Any other thoughts on this?

There's also talk in Alpha about having Entangling Roots work indoors too. That would trump being able to hibernate a few dragons.
But as always it would add to our utility. ^^

Ha ha. I initially read the title as "WotLK = Druids QQing more?"

If my experience in ST is any indicator, hibernate sucks when you really need it. Got resisted constantly even though I was 3 levels higher than the mobs.

We use it a bit in Slave Pens & TK and have very few issues with it resisting.

Certainly nothing like the problems you used to have in LBRS & UBRS if you tried hibernating there. It seems much better in the new content.

What would be nice is to have roots work in instances that "appear" to have outdoor sections, such as Mgt, then a cat druid would be invited to Mgt groups.

Yeah, that annoys me, too. There are a few instances that do have outdoor sections (or are all outdoor such as ZF) and roots aren't allowed. What's even more annoying is when the mobs within those instances can root and we can't.

....But,
That's old news.
*sigh*

Anyways, despite the rumor of roots being made available indoors (I'm not holding my breath), I was just looking at other resources we have that given the right circumstances, we can use and make us more wanted as dpsers. And if roots does become available indoors, then it's not unheard of to have two type of crowd control (warlocks come to mind when fighting demons).

What's a cat druid?

He means a feral druid that leans toward DPS therefore being in cat form. While bear druids would be feral druids leaning toward tanking. Trees are resto druids and crit-chickens are balanced.

I think he was joking..... if he was, it was funny, if he wasn't, no hard feelings.

As for the topic, I doubt it. Hibernate can only target 1 person at a time, so even if roots could be used inside we'd still only have 2 CC's. Might make us a somewhat more viable group choice, and some cat druids may be picked up in lieu of 1 or 2 rogues, same for boomkin, but otherwise I don't think so.

Hibernate's never been dungeon friendly though anyway.

The indoor/outdoor thing is just weird sometimes. Like how there are places where you can mount up, but you can't go into travel form because "you must be outside."

As opposed to the six or seven CCs that mages and rogues have? Sorry, but maybe I'm missing the point here.
