I am totally new to the rogue. What stats should i try to build on for PVE? I am using this rogue as an alt so i dont want to spend much money on it.
While leveling just look out for of the monkey and bandit gear, that and quest gear will do you fine until you hit 70. there really is no need to be buying anything.
once you hit 70 your looking for a nice mix of +hit +agility and +Attack power. Agility covers Attack power and Crit-rating so this is the base stat for a rogue. obviously you need some Stamina but really you shouldn't be getting hit so its only to max sure boss ability's don't kill you
hit is capped at 363, but as this is an alt you'll probably not be getting that.

To OP - read the stickies, you'll find what you need there.
i should have said this won't be an issue, as ofc its a total reachable stat to achieve. but 1 which is easy to avoid exceeding.

Once you get near level 60 you might want to get some friends and do this one instance in Dustwallow Marsh. The monsters there drop Bloodfang leather, and it's one of the best armors for rogues at 60. I think the instance is called Onyxia's Lair.

please stop posting this useless info.
At level 60 the OP should be in outland, green gear there is equal to old world gear and a lot easier to get. if he is running instances Hellfire ones are the place to go.
