Need help with my disc/holy priestFollow

#1 Jun 20 2008 at 1:08 AM Rating: Good
Well. For a few days now i have been trying to get into pvp alot more. one thing i have done is drop being a shadow priest to attempt playing in a more survivalist fashion.

I have seen many priest in the bg and arenas that just will NOT die. they can be getting destroyed by 10 people and will not go down.

Of course being new to this i dont really have that great of gear for it and have no real clue about the disc priest role..

I have read alot about them as healers.. but i would rather be a survivalist/solo people with damage from shield and swp, of course i will heal others.. but i am wanting to make that secondary to being a survival type player.

any tips and guides would be awsome.. i have looked around alot and not really found anything that i feel was what i was looking for.

so if you have advice for turning a priest into a survival/flagcarrying master.. i would really like to hear some tips.

Well .. those that refuse to die are usually healing specced .. because healing yourself is a great way to survive :P

On gear: nobody obviously starts off with great gear. Do battlegrounds and grind for the S2 items, that should give you a nice start, and meanwhile you can practice staying alive in extreme enviroments (AV for example)

Keep in mind that those guys that are surviving that much damage probably have Pain Suppression (-60% damage), and full or close-to-full Season 3 gear (and by now, they probably have S4 helm/chest as well). A priest with those can survive very well; if you're running around in the blue PvP rep gear, or in non-PvP gear, you'll be a hell of a lot squishier.

My basic rule is that, if someone doesn't have at least 11k health, they are not suited to be the flag carrier and I ask that they let someone else grab it. High resilience is needed too; I heal as shadow in the smaller BG's and can't stress enough how big a difference there is in healing someone with 200 resilience and someone with 450.
