Either gnome or human for alliance rogues.

Gnome - escape artist (free escapes from snares)

Human - perception (Most OP racial in PvP/Arena)

Depending on your question, it would be gnome, escape artist is good in clutch situations, more so than 1%(lol) dodge.

However, if I were to roll a new alliance rogue, it wouldn't be either, it would be human.

If you're going into the game casually/for pve: Whatever you can bear looking at for 70 levels and countless hours of endgame.

If you're going into the game hardcore for pvp: Human.

I would take NE over gnome, actually.

Shadowmeld is clutch to grab crystals in a rogue/rogue comp or a rogue/druid comp.

Get to a corner, shadowmeld, get the crystals to pop, then move, grab them and stealth right away.

But yeah, human is WAY better.

Honestly the only two races that should ever be rolled as a rogue are human/undead.

edit: is/are, same thing right? Smiley: rolleyes

supposedly NE also get +1 level of stealth.

its not huge, and im not even 100% sure if its true, but it is a small buff.

It's the equivalent to 1 point in MoD.

Not huge, but it's there.

They have the downside to looking ******* awful, though.

:'(

Why you hate me?...

But yeah, as I said, I would trade my stealth racial for perception any day of the week.

Also, humans get those nice rep bonuses and sword specialization stats right. Since dagger specs for rogues were pretty much nerfed, having the +sword and also +maces is really nice. Honestly, I wish I'd known these things when I first began too. :( So, yeah, definitely go human rather than gnome or Nelf.

;_; on me for being a nub when I started.

Size doesn't matter (not like a dork like you is ever going to see a naked girl anyways).

Human. For both pve and pvp.

A gnome's size would only help a bit. So lets say a player can see you in a BG. Since elves are bigger he could notice something moving in the corner of his computer screen. A gnome is smaller so it might be harder to notice even if the guy can see through your stealth. You get it?

I have a level 47 gnome rogue, and I love it. I think that size does matter in PVP. I know I do alot of it...and I just stealth and hide in a bush in Arathi (my favorite BG). But then, Im subtely, so that might make a difference... Im not sure if it will. Also, if you do go subtely, get "Cheat Death", with that and "Escape Artist" I survive alot more things. I would definatly say go with a gnome.
